Nope, but it caught my eye. Scotlan has one of those and the metallic green colour is superb on the Elan. The yellow wheels and red interior may not be to everybody's taste, but it certainly is striking. I notice from the photos that the screen seems to be starting to delaminate at the top in the centre, exactly where mine started to do the same two weeks ago. I'm not sure what I'll do about that - ie how long it will take to go from being untidy looking to having to be replaced.
It looks like a beauty, and is well worth a look to check the condition of the usual bits (brakes, rusty suspension, evidence of water leaks inside). It's very low mileage, but doesn't say when the cam belt was last changed - it needs done after 5 years, no matter how low the mileage. Also it doesn't mention uprated brakes, which is something which is well worth doing (and I don't just mean sticking in different pads - the front calipers should be replaced to make a real difference to braking). If it's a good one, but I'm right about the windscreen, cam belt and brakes, your eBay bid should reflect that in the price.

john_W good spot. I thought the mark on the windscreen was a reflection. I looked at a thread in the 'doors and windows' section and a figure in excess of £1100 was mentioned so if I knock that off the price I think the car is worth it seems unlikely that the car will be sitting on my drive :( but better that than spending top dollar and then having to sort an expensive problem out, so thank you.

The marking across the middle and also at the top N/S corner may not be the screen delaminating (3 layers separating) but corrosion of the alloy windscreen surround. This is what my SE had in both upper corners. Water gets in (especially at the top corners where the A-Pillar seal fixes at the top) and sits between the screen bonding bead and the alloy frame with nowhere to go. The alloy corrosion eats through the blackout strip on the back of the screen and shows through. I replaced the screen myself rather than get it done just so that I could clean-up the surround, paint it all and ensure the whole lot was sealed. Didn't replace it until the screen caught a stone and had a foot long crack the following morning -- it had passed MOT repeatedly with the corrosion showing through.

Maybe they'll keep it if they can't get the price they want?
You would think the seller would do at least a little research before attempting to sell it.

If the history of the car is true and the woman has owned it since new, then it must have been a massive step to decide to sell it. There were £15k price tags for S2's with low mileage a couple of years ago, so you can't blame them for their initial asking price. The drop to £12k is an indication of either taking advice from conversations with John V6 or the closer to the price they want/need for it.

ABS & Airbags? Bless her, if the woman has only been doing 1.6k miles a year it's only been pottering around posing on the way to the shops or something. So she's probably never needed to worry about that. (would be a small airbag though to come out of that Optional Extra Nardi Steering Wheel)

If my Evora Funds had enough money in it, I would be tempted to buy it.

Good Luck John V6. You'll probably get it for a few quid over £10k

:? Something I've just noticed (as an SE driver), I know that the S2 hand brake lever is longer than the SE
but does it usually point towards the steering wheel ?
