ALL CARS ON EBAY.

Elans for sale in the UK.
Discussion of prices of Elans advertised for sale on LEC is prohibited in open forum, private discussion is perfectly acceptable. A separate area for discussion of prices of Elans not advertised on LEC and market value generally is available in the 'Elan Buying Help section' of the 'For Sale' area.

"Please, no more questions like:
1. When was the cam belt changed?
2. How much tread is on the tyres?
4. Does it let in the rain?
5. Will I get my hands dirty with this, etc, etc."

Surely all valid questions, if I were selling those would be things I'd list in the advert?

I suspect that, for whatever reason, he's not actually trying to sell it (especially at that price)!

Very odd!

It does say "it doesn't come with the plate advertised" so why bother blocking it out anyway? MOT history is essential info to avoid salesman bullshit.
The reg number is H630 VCL
But that number doesn't exist in the DVLA database :smt017
I got that number from the ad on facebook.

Huh?? Seen it on Faceache as C20 AMS in the photos. Parked outside Austin Sheward Coachworks so explains why plate is being retained. (Still don't understand why Reg No is in photos on Faceache but not ebay but there you go ...)

C20 AMS is much more likely. It exists on the DVLA website anyway, even though it's listed as red !!

This car is owned by Martin at Austin Steward Coachworks. He specializes in repairs/paint to glass fibre cars .

My Elan was repaired by him twice via insurance. On the second occasion with his advice and his willingness to agreed a fixed and very competitive price including the use of secondhand parts which he sourced, we prevented my car becoming a CAT D. I would recommend him as his work is also first class.

He has owned his Elan for many years and in fact resprayed his purple and undertook a light restoration after seeing how smart my car looked post repair. Martin is a true Elan enthusiast and I am sure would be very accommodating in respect of any genuine enquiries.

I think we are getting two completely different cars mixed up here (or I'm just confused as f*ck!).

The yellow one on eBay is owned by the loony who is DEMANDING 12.5K.

The one with the reg C20 is the purple flip painted one who is/was owned by somebody who still had their sanity.

The latter, I'm afraid

Yes - the yellow one on eBay is owned by the loony who is DEMANDING 12.5K and will never, ever achieve that price in a month of Sundays  He posted a link to a red M100 on the track at Suzuka for some unearthly reason. It wasn't even his yellow scrapper !!

Yes - the one with the reg C20 is the purple flip painted one who is/was owned by somebody who still had their sanity. But when you look at the DVLA website for MOT checks, this purple car is recorded as red

The purple one has been posted on another lotus forum . And as mentioned the guy resprayed it ( obviously ) i said nissan fleck he did mention what it was .
Again as mentioned he seems a decent enough guy .
So it kinda stands to reason as it is a non lotus colour then it has come from another base colour ...

Interestingly, his other listing (for a tent) appears relatively normal, although the address is given as Burnley. His only previous sale (mobile phone) was also listed as being in Burnley. Maybe someone’s borrowed his Ebay account to sell the M100.

I dare you to ask him "does it let in the rain ?"

PS I suspect your right about someone borrowing his account to sell the yellow scrapper. The English and grammar appears to have been written by 2 entirely different people :?

I haven't spent the last 12 days visiting all the Asdas… I'll let you into my secret:
1. Read advert picture.
2. Ask Mr. Google to find "Trinity Park industrial estate Liverpool".
3. Tell his brother, Mr. Maps to go to "L20 6PB".
4. Copy picture.
5. Post picture.
Carry on drinking, although I may have to put a sweatshirt on as it's getting a bit cold. 8)

This is why pubs are closing down across the country.

People ask Google for the answer.

Once upon a time you went down the pub and there was always someone there who knew the answer.........'bloke down the pub said.......'
