Definitely looks like it's been looked after. All the usual stuff sorted although rear brakes have been an issue according to MOT history. I think I'm right in saying that's not uncommon for Elans.

Easily sorted with regular maintenance. Or by replacing with a rear brake upgrade ie PNM or Honda conversion ex Jamie

Correct Ron. BFG in the BRG before Muley.

PS fairly sure that was the one where a spike or spring projected through the drivers seat and gave Jim an unwanted rectal colonoscopy

Yep. Sold April 2017 for £4750! Somebody got a bargain. Might leave some wriggle room on the current price.

Even better in Nov 2014. Sold for £3750

Now £6700. Based on these exponential rises it will be for sale next year at >£10k

..it was a nice car. S2 seats :)

Instantly regretted selling it - new owner complained a lot about the niggles (some real, some imaginary)

That was weird. I managed to post on the previous quote.
Anyway, I shall be looking for niggles on Wednesday. Taking my trusty LEC buying guide with me.

I thought it was a former Muley car and as I said back in 2016 on the For Sale thread......
Rambo wrote:I can vouch for the car. It's a good 'un. Saw it in person this year at Silverstone classics ;-)

The price was so low at the time I should've purchased it from Jim

PS suggest you make contact with Muley via PM (tap on Muley's name 3 posts above and in viewing profile tap on "Send private message") and see if he can point you in the right direction re. any faults, whether real or imaginary. It will help you greatly in the bargaining process to have all this info. to hand

Another one! Low mileage for the price. Appears original too. Anybody know this car?

Well done. I think Jim rates this M100 as one of the best (~12 and counting) he has owned

Congratulations ,
You have bought a well known club car that was previously owned by a very respected LEC member.

Low mileage at a premium price.
Contacted the dealer and it’s original with the tool box present. The MOT advisories will be sorted. Anybody know this car and is it worth it?

Looks like a stunning example to me, if you have the money buy it, you could do a lot worse, buy a cheaper one and have to spend a fortune getting up to
standard, and even then it's unlikely to match that one.

And dont they just look so good in red!. :-)

when they say advisories will be sorted I would be asking how - front suspension wishbones would have to be replaced to sort permanently - or taken off , sandblasted and coated provided they are generally sound - brakes sound if they are original so will need to be updated to ensure future MOT passes - both these jobs are not cheap and if replaced would cost £1500+ easily - if they are willing to do this then worth the top money being asked - even good original cars with low mileages still need updating ie exhaust , brakes / suspension / gear linkage / hoses etc.

Hi Jamie N & Gov,
You both make very good points; the top of the car does look stunning, but I have the same reservations underneath, but it depends how bad they are and if it is serviceable? It does have a s/s SJSportscars full exhaust fitted and a comprehensive service history including a couple of cam belt changes.
It appears that nobody on here knows this car so I guess I will have to make a long trip to view before I commit, unless anyone on here lives close to Dunley Car Sales, DY13 0TU who would be willing to have a view and take some pics?
Cheers,
Denny

Hi Denny - as the reviews of the trader are good I would talk to them directly about your concerns - it's a reasonable request considering the asking price and the fact that the car is a classic 29 years old - if as you say they are prepared to sort the advisories at best I would think they would clean up the front wishbones and may be wax oil them afterwards - I would ask also if the brakes/suspension has been updated - even without receipts it can be easily seen - if they want to sell the car they could easily email you some photos - then decide if you want to travel long distance . good luck and I hope it all works out - it does look a stunner and in the best colour ( my Elan is also a red 91 SE )
