Postby theelanman » Fri 12.08.2005, 13:04

wouldnt that have to be something like the most m100's driving in formation...or the most m100's all beeping their horns in the same place at the same time......
I just get the feeling that just having them in one place doesnt really do it for the Gbor...I think they have to be doing something......is like having the most aerobic instructors in any one place....but they had to do excercise.....the most musicians in any one place...they had to play something........do we get my drift.........
what about the longest moving snake of traffic of one make of car?.....the most cars on a track at once?....
I hope all the above makes sense...!!!
cheers

Whatever happens (and if it happens) then please count me in a BRG as interested in attending. Summer would be better IMO.

Theelanman - points noted. That's why I felt the parade would be the thing to go for on Hethel's track. The Brunty one was held at 10mph 1 car length apart for 1 lap. Hethel's track is around 2.5 miles long, plenty of room for plenty of cars! :D

With relative lack of space otherwise I think some ideas would be limited. Please suggest more though. Of course the other main idea is to get our baby's wheels back onto the track they took their first tentative rotations on

Good news Dudes! :D

Hethel have just called to say they should be able to let us use their site for our record attempt!

Plans will be for around July August probably on a Sunday.

Need to get promotional posters n stuff arranged for Stonleigh if possible. I'd also like to borrow brains on how we can best approach GBoR

I will need to get date confirmed and record attempt agreed then a list of all those who can attend! If people are in the media bsuiness please see what you can do to get maximum cover for us! :)

Now the hard work begins...

Nice ons Stef - if you need help let me know..... Im not in advertising but I know a man who is.....I will ask him about coverage.
What about involving the tv motoring programmes, top gear, driven etc......

I guess we will have to decide on what we will do first though.

We need to get a record put together, proposed and accepted. Then date decided on.

I will like to contact Top Gear, 5th Gear and the well known motor shows but would also consider Lotus clubs and associations. And the known Motor Magazines. Lots to contact and if I can round up some assistance we could assign tasks and hit hard and wide!

I will try to get some basic A4 posters to use at Stonleigh but don't have access to a decent colour printer so if someone wants to take that more urgent task on I'd be greatful.

To those outside of the Elan World, what we do won't be that amazing and so I don't expect massive articles but if we can get a mention on a few then the prestige of the M100 will increase and our pride and cheezy grins will get bigger! 8)

Times gonna fly fast and we have good ol Christmas round the corner. Donington will need to be planned efficiently to muster up over 100 Elans or the record will not hold clout.

So, calling all brave souls, please step forward and make your assistance in getting this project to go well known!

Cheers all!

I've got access to a very good colour printer that does A3, so if you email me what you want to print, I can bring it along to Stoneleigh.

What about the biggest game of connect 4. If we get all the colours right we could easily do that.

OK RJ I'll contact the old folks home I'm sure they could spare the time :D

I was thinking a parade of somesort of mex wave with the lights. Connect 4 would limit colour use but any ideas can be worked on so keep em coming! :D

BING!!!!!!
idea.......wot about a relay......
the fastest relay involving the most number of cars?????
how long does it take to get round the hethel track?......even at a steady pace I'd reckon we'd be safe assuming 2 mins a car, so thats 30 cars/hour.....how long do we have the track???....24 hrs le mans relay????....1 lap each at 30 cars /hr....720 cars if we get the track for 24hrs.....hey even 8hrs would need 240 cars
240 cars taking a 'batton' 600 miles in 8hrs......or 720 cars taking a 'batton' 1800 miles in 24hrs.....(the track is about 2.5 miles long isnt it??)

however if it were a 24hrs thing you'd need a dedicated bunch for the night stint!!!

just a thought!!!

cheers

Great news Stef. Think we need to fix a date asap before people start booking summer hols for next year.

We will need some flyers for Stoneleigh and Donny to leave on any non LEC M100s we spot
