Must have been someone's from here; it has the limited edition cnc oil cap. Also wears a set of Top End Performance intake pipes.

I see this one is a 49-state car (2xxxx VIN). Have any of the California members here had problems registering/smogging these 49-state Elans?

Going off of a copy of the registry file that BCN had hosted, these are the first VINs in that list...
Screen Shot 2021-01-28 at 8.42.27 AM.png

It's a little bit noisy with a CAN model in there, but it looks like two batches near the front: 26150's, and 26740's. I'm not able to add mine to this list, but my last digits are 26744, so it would appear I'm near the front of the 'second batch' that came over. Mine was made in Dec '90, so maybe October '90 at the earliest for those 26150's?
FWIW, the list doesn't have owners for all the numbers, but @texaselite is the first LEC owner named, so maybe they could provide another anchor date to fill in the gaps?
...
or wait for one of our esteemed real historians to come along and not some armchair sleuth like me ;)

I don't wish to be rude here but does it matter - better yet - HOW does it matter what the number is?

I have an M100, no idea where and when it was born, who are the parents/siblings and other relatives.

Buy, drive, smile as you go.

As mentioned, not trying to be rude here but as both Colin Chapman AND Bruce Patrick have said on more than one occasion... "it is all about the cars"

No intention to offend here.

Well the legend says some VIN identify a couple of car longer by about 19 inches! 8) :bonk: :-D

(seriously it's interesting to know when it has been built because there has been a few (minor) modifications — at least it's why I know when mine has been built)
