Well i don`t think i`ll bringing as much as u Chris, but i`ve managed to get my 2 spare S2 wheels in the boot :-D

luckly i`ve got no screaming passenger so can get the camping gear in the front. Oh BTW my tent goes up in 3 seconds lol :-D

Going to get a diposable BBQ and some food tomo`s, looks like the weather will be on our side :wink:

Been playing with the car today :roll:

adjusted the suspension
Dico help me bleed the front brakes
had to change one of the exhaust clamp as it got bent in france :roll:

and done my run around for disposable BBQs, food and beer.
oh and washed the car for a change lol :-D

see u all there tomo`s, i`ll get there for about 3 :wink:

Great to see everyone on Saturday night, and to meet the founders of Lotus Eggland Central. :wink:

It's odd that we had more fun chatting about ChrisT's chickens than Elans!
Great fun evening, fab tucker and a superb atmosphere.
Hope I didn't keep everyone awake with my snoring, or wake everyone up with my engine at 6.30am on Sunday morning!

i'm not going to do a big write up on the event but just really to say what a great w/e. Just great to see you all.

Good to meet Al and Arana (sp) for their first trackday, looks like Al's a natural. might be a good idea Al to give your impressions on your track experience for the benfit of others who might be thinking of doing similar.

Monty, your car is fantastic on the track but does tend to try to plough up the roads and speed humps :lol:

It really was enlightening to see how the Elan can be very competitive if set up correctly. the seats although not ideal for long journeys are perfect for the track. Looking forward to seeing your video footage.

We had Neil drop in on us on his way to oulton park, good to see you Neil, how were the beef burgers BTW.

BobC have you got an oboe shoved up your exhaust or something cos it was really screaming (help maybe).

Nick, glad you managed to get some laps in so wasn't totally a wasted day.

Don't about the rest of you guys but i couldn't even raise a smile when i got back. But hey still looking forward to next year :-D

Had a great weekend and even got the sunny weather, but not ideal when sitting directly in the sun watching the Bird of prey at Shuttleworth display :smt010

Anyways i was that tired when i got back last night just couldn`t be assed with the comp :roll:

Got some video footage and one lap were i put on the trackday tyres on the front as i was suffering with major understeer, the result was 2 spins with Al as a passanger :-D

The best thing about Bedford u can push harder, there was plenty of cars spinning but it is hard on tyres and brakes as my brand new front trackday tyres are shagged :roll:

Pinky did get plenty of stick

(poor thing) plenty of travel in the brake pedal and the hand brake too, so new pads all round i think :roll:

It was awesome, we had a fantastic time !

Camping was great, though you've got to be careful about where you pitch your tent; I think Neil might've pitched up on top of some nocturnal animal judging by the noise that started up once he'd gone to sleep... :smt082

The trackday itself was very enlightening, it's good to experience how your car changes its handling characteristics in those conditions, and also what happens when you make a mistake.

The atmosphere at the track was really good, with pretty much all the drivers sticking to the rules (the only exception was a twat in a green elise who decided to overtake me without permission going into a fast left hand bend after I had already committed to the line, I spotted him in time and managed to get out of his way, but I saw that he fell off the track a couple of corners later anyways and didn't see him for the rest of the day).

The track at Bedford is definitely perfect for the beginner: virtually zero chance of hitting anything if you do come unstuck. I probably wasn't pushing my car hard enough to do that, but Monty very kindly gave me a personal introduction to pirouetting off chicanes onto grass when he took me out for a passenger ride :smt041

I found the circuit had a good mix of corners, from flat out blats to fairly tight technical turns, great variety, though it did take me while to learn the circuit being as long as it is, fortunately I had the capable Arán as my co-pilot shouting out gears for corners as we went round

All in all, I had an absolutely cracking time, and I can't recommend it enough. I don't want to get addicted to this 'cos it could get to be expensive, but I'll certainly be going again.

I really want to say thanks so much to the LECers I met up with for making it such a great weekend !
