WELL WHO WENT OFF THEN??

were you using the remains of those slicks you were using at Bedford?
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

As Dico said, it`s the white Porker sat on the grass after the spin lol, the driver did get a bit quicker through the day but Pinky was keeping up on the straights and was faster round the circuit :-D He asked what size engine was Pinky, i reply 1.6 and u should of seen his face  After his spin he disappeared

Yes, stuck those trackday tyres on the front but this time changed the tyre pressure, at bedford i started with 30 psi as some of you lot adviced  and when they were hot they jumped to 39 psi
IIRC
This time started with
Fronts 21psi (cold) which jumped to 30 psi
Rears 24 ps (cold) which jumped to 28 psi

So took out another 2 psi per tyre
Fronts 19psi (cold) 28 psi after a cool down lap
Rears 22psi (cold) 26 psi after a cool down lap

But Aintree doesn`t have as tight corners as Bedford so those pressure may change. think what i`m aiming for is to have the tyres at stock pressure when there hot.

The Elise was a 111 which is Martins of NORLOG, we`re about the same on performance but the Elise does handle better + he was out braking me and just didn`t want ro kill my brakes as i`ve already warped one set of disc this year

Even thou i enjoyed Aintree Can`t see me doing it again as it`s 10 minute session and prefer open pit lane. So i`ll be saving my dosh for circuit that i want to do next year ie Donny & croft

Monty,
The video clips were great (I just switched the sound off ).

It looks like you're getting the hang of this track-day game and learning to keep it on the black stuff too. Good lad. Will you be aiming to do the track day at Donington on the weekend of the show if it's on again next year?

Cheer John,

I know i could go faster but is it really worth it :? Nope, i`ve spent alot of time and money on Pinky and wouldn`t want to lose her but i know the more trackdays i do the more risk of something going wrong or somebody going in to you :( thats a risk u take with trackdays

I`m quite happy with the performance of the car now (except head gasket  ) so i`m happy to have a little play then just let other cars pass me.

LoT haven`t got next years calander up but yes if they do a trackday again i will certainly be there :-D and don`t mind giving pax rides

nice, Monty.

worth others noticing if needed how responsive your boost is when changing gears

compare this to a stock Elan and it's highly likely this is due to blow-off valve and larger than original (non-squashed) exhaust

you can see and feel the difference driving, but for those that don't know, just watch the boost gauge and compare to yours

I`ve swapped to a forge dump valve now but lately i`ve fitted an in car MBC and bypassed the BSV, so i`m now (well was) running 1bar of boost and by bypassing the BSV the boost comes in quicker. :-D it`s a good job i`ve got a spare engine

Thanks to Paul for the link, it`s good to see track side footage gives u better perspective.
