Bedford AutodromeSatic 101db
Driveby 87.5db
All vehicles participating in track days at Bedford Autodrome must conform to MSV’s static noise test limit of 101dB(A). Noise checks to establish adherence to this limit will be conducted in accordance with current measuring methods as defined by the MSA. Essentially this means that the test will be carried out with the meter 0.5m from the car exhaust at a 45 degree angle with the car at ¾ maximum revs.
In addition to the static test mentioned above, vehicles must also comply with our drive-by noise limits. The noise emissions from any vehicle must not exceed 87.5dB(A) measured 20m from the car, which shall be accelerating maximally at over 60mph. Drive-by levels are monitored using noise meters located at several locations around the Bedford Autodrome complex.
If the results of the monitoring show that a particular vehicle is exceeding the drive-by limit of 87.5dB(A), then MSV staff will inform the participant and their vehicle will not be permitted to take further part in the event.

Oulton ParkStatic 105db
Static Tests
All vehicles participating in track days at Oulton Park must conform to the noise limit, on a static test, of 105 dB(A).
Noise checks to establish adherence to the relevant limit will be conducted in accordance with current measuring methods as defined by the MSA. Essentially this means that the noise test shall be measured from a position 0.5m behind the exhaust at a 45 degree angle, with the engine running at ¾ maximum revs.
In cases where the vehicle has two separated exhausts the measurement will be taken as above from the median point between the two.
If MSV is of the opinion that any vehicle does not comply with the applicable noise restrictions, the relevant vehicle will be prevented from participating in the remainder of the event unless and until the noise emissions are addressed to bring them within the applicable limit.
Drive-by Monitoring
Whilst MSV do not currently impose a drive-by limit at Oulton Park, in the interests of ensuring that the spirit of the noise level limits is respected, MSV do monitor drive-by levels using noise meters located around the circuit.
If the results of the drive-by monitoring show that a particular vehicle is generating drive-by sound levels appreciably higher than vehicles with comparable static test results, then MSV staff will notify the participant, and the relevant vehicle shall not be permitted to take further part in the event until the participant has addressed the noise levels generated by their vehicle to bring them within acceptable sound levels.

Donington ParkDrive-by 98db
IMPORTANT NOTICE - QUIET USE/SILENCED DAY
TRACK DAYS & SILENCED GENERAL TESTS
Instructions to all track users
Maximum noise limits are set by the District Councils and are monitored by Donington Park Noise Control Officers and independently by the District Councils every day for the whole duration of the time that the circuit is in use. Failure to comply with the Noise Control Procedure at Donington Park will result in you having to leave the circuit immediately without refund.
For more information contact us.
Unsilenced vehicles are not permitted to operate on the track during days classfied as 'quiet' or 'road silenced'.
On arrival at the circuit you must report to, and signing-on with, the organisers of the track day where you will be briefed about noise control procedures.
Users of the track must display or wear any form of identification (e.g. numbers, bibs etc.) as stipulated from time to time by the Noise Control Officer.
All silencers must be operative and will be checked. They must be authorised by the Noise Control Officer by the fixing of a coloured/dated sticker onto your vehicle prior to you being permitted onto the track.
Noise testing is carried out at various positions around the track by a computerised noise monitoring system, which will sample and log your noise levels automatically. You will be automatically noise tested on every lap of the track.
If your vehicle exceeds the Noise Control Standard you will be black flagged from designated positions around the circuit. You must slow down, complete the lap in a safe manner, then pull off the track into the pit lane and drive into the paddock then report to the Pit Lane Marshall. The Pit Lane Marshall will advise you whether you will be allowed to re-test your vehicle or whether you are required to leave the circuit.
At any time the Noise Control Officer may, at his absolute discretion, require any vehicle to undergo and pass a static noise test as a pre-condition of its admission onto, or continued use of, the track.
Any attempt to evade the Noise Control Procedures will result in you being required to leave the circuit immediately without refund.
The Noise Control Officer's decision is final on all matters.
When using a vehicle in the paddock, please drive with consideration and do not
cause disturbance by persistently revving an engine.

Brands HatchStatic Tests
All vehicles participating in track days at Brands Hatch must conform to the following noise levels, measured on a static test, dependent on the circuit configuration and whether the track day is a daytime or evening session:
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit (daytime) : 105 dB(A)
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit (evenings) : 102 dB(A) or 98 dB(A). See booking page for details.
Brands Hatch GP Circuit : 101 dB(A)
Noise checks to establish adherence to the relevant limit will be conducted in accordance with current measuring methods as defined by the MSA. Essentially this means that the noise test shall be measured from a position 0.5m behind the exhaust at a 45 degree angle, with the engine running at ¾ maximum revs.

All vehicles must comply to the strict noise limit of 100db(A), which is measured at ½ metre from the exhaust outlet at 4500rpm. All vehicles will be sound checked prior to taking to the circuit, please ensure that your car is in suitable condition for circuit driving and to MOT standard. Cars fitted with slick tyres are only permitted subject to strict monitoring of driving standards.
In the event of a car failing the sound check, then the driver will be entitled to a 75% refund. If you are unsure if your car will get through the noise test, then you could always come over to get it noise tested prior to booking a place.

Thats very useful. Perhaps they could be reformatted into some sort of table.
Where you have got just static levels does this mean that there are no driveby levels or you just haven't found any? I know that at G/wood people do get black flagged on the drivebys. Next time i'm down there i'll see if i can find out.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

I got the 98db from Lotus On Track ebsite, I`ve just looked on Goodwood website and can`t see anything on the drive-by
https://www.goodwood.co.uk/site/content ... Diary.aspxBut the do seem to have a strange set up for there trackdays
Goodwood will operate two types of Track Day : A 10-car day at a noise limit of 98 decibels, with a maximum of 40 cars run in sessions of 10. A 5-car day at 105 decibels, with a maximum of 25 cars run in sessions of 5.
Prices start from £160 for a half-day session, rising to £315 for the full day. All instruction is included within the price. Light refreshments are also included and passengers are very welcome. Gift packages are also available.
Open Pit Lane. Monday 22nd June 2009 Only 15 cars and no sessions. Noise limit 105 decibels.
Some circuits don`t have drive-by testing ie MSV circuits and some have drive-by but do not have Static tests ie Donington
If anyone knows any different can post a reply and i`ll edit the above.
Don`t forget LoT have a Circuit Guide
