dude, my ears are bleedin from that cracklin' mic! you gotta get that thing fixed . . .

Nothing i can do Doug, it looks like they fitted a cheap Mic to all of them. I did a search on the net and there`s been quite a few complaining about it

Chris,
No not had instruciton yet, personly it would be difficult to take advice from an instructor who`s use to mid engine rear wheel drive cars who never been in a M100 and saying go flat out round the next corner  and can u imagine him telling u when to brake when he wouldn`t have a clue of what the M100 brakes are like  The M100 doesn`t handle the same as an Elise they have far more grip and most have track tyres on. Best to go at u`r own pace and as long as u enjoy it.

Bedford is quite a difficult circuit to learn as there`s 19 corners and over 4 miles long and some of those cones they put out confuse you abit as they used the apex small cones to block of some of the circuit  and u end up thinking u should be turning in lol But bedford is the place to find out the limit, there was couple of superb high speed spins by the Elises on the bend just coming on to the pit straight. :-D

Monty,

I originally thought it might be electrical, as it only seemed to happen at high revs, and you might have been able to screen it with tin foil.

Now I think it might be mechanical, because when you go off the track (sorry, take the perfect racing line over the rumble strips ) there is some additional noise. It might be worth trying trying to isolate it from the mount. There again, it might not.

Well i did a Trackday at Oulton Park yesterday (Tuesday) with LoT, haven`t done one since March and the last time i did Oulton in my own M100 was back in January 2007.

The forecast for the day was dry, so when i got up to set off it was a frosty morning here in Manchester but as soon as i got closer to Oulton the rain was coming down  After the briefing the rain had eased off, the circuit was still extremely greasey hence there were quite a few red flags through out the day and a couple off cars did get a few bumps and scrapes. The only serious one was quite a bit off rear clam damage off an elise
The weather got so bad the Circuit closed early for Lunch, after lunch the rain/snow had stopped and they got is all out behinde a pace car to clear the sludge and puddles and the circuit was reopen :-D

Here`s a pic showing how bad the weather got (taken by a NORLOG member)
Image

Anyways i took it quite easy and managed to stay on the blackstuff and had a bit off fun with a few elises/exiges :burnout:
I did have the camera rolling but since i`ve gone to a clamp mount which i fixed to the Roll Hoops and positoned the camera to low on the bars and the end result was that you can`t see much over the dash unless i`m going down hill :banghead: I might edit a bit off vid as i just caught a Honda Civic having a big spin :smt081

In the mean time here`s a vid that a NORLOG member took and you`ll see the Pink Bomb at the beginning + a couple off spins

I wasn`t going to bother editing my footage of the day as I went to a Clamp mount for the camera and on watching the footage back i then realised i fitted the mount to low on the Rollbar and can`t see much of the Circuit :censored:
But i got bored today and thought what the hell :D at least it shows how bad the conditions got and at the end i just caught the Honda Civic(?) having a wee off at Cascades.

Well i did another trackday with LoT on the 30th October, what a contrast to a year ago (see photo`s above) dry all day :-D

Wasn`t going to bother editing the video footage as the camera seemed to have struggled with the white balance for some reason, so the footage has come out bright and the camera is still a little high :Censored:

Anyways i was bored, so did a quick edit but the footage is even worst when uploading to YouTube. At the end of the vid you`ll see my spin going down in to Cascades
Also checked couple of lap times and looks like i was doing about 2.15`s

Great vid, good to see the Elan passing the track friendly Elise..

What went wrong with the spin? ,, was it turning in while still on the brakes ? .....I've never done a full 360 on track 8)

was doing about a ton, there`s a left kink then a dip as your going down to Cascades. Was braking hard and the Elan got a wobble, so the car was unstable as i went to turn in which started at about 80 mph :-D just glad i didn`t go on to the grass as the grass was wet and dips away towards the Barrier

Suffered with a soft pedal brake pedal even thou i was using Motul RBF racing fluid

But had a fantastic day, mikeydud was in with me at one point and had a great chase with an Elise but didn`t switch the camera on

at 1:00 you see me first ... then the MX5 (stripped, racespec...) is chasing me down.
But when he overtakes me I gave the sign to go off the circuit for another passenger.
It was a charity trackday for disabled children.
