Welcome and where are you?

The Bo'Ness meet is the regular Club Lotus meet for the Central Belt. Details in the magasine (Bo'Ness Motor Museum EH51 9JR, second Wednesday of the month). Call Club Lotus before you go (01362 694459 / 691144) just to check it's on that month. We also have meetings around Aberdeen; last one was Sunday 6th at the Lairhillock. These are not just for Elans

If you want to meet Elan owners, the next Scottish event is at East Fortune, organised by M100_DMM. DAvid says that there should be about half a dozen at the Museum of Flight on the weekend of 11th March.

Also BigErch and I are driving down to Donington for the Club Lotus show in August with about half a dozen Lotuses from Aberdeen and will no doubt meet up with the usual suspects on the way down to make a convoy of ten or so. You'll certainly see an Elan or two at Donington. I think the usual number is about 80.

You forgot to mention the legendary Friday night curry, Saturday Elan convoy to the show and Saturday night at the Navvy! :poke:

Ronaldo is joining us on the forthcoming Scottish day out to East Fortune airfield. We are meeting up at his house for tyre kicking before we proceed in an orderly convoy behind said "young Mr Rankin" and Gloria. I will be briefing Ronaldo on the up and coming Donington w/e - after all its only 6 months to go and RJR will need to get up to speed on what's happening where and when

Thanks to M100_DMM for organising yesterday's great day out at East Fortune, and to Ron & Gloria (and their daughter's parishioners) for the hospitality, coffee, cakes & biscuits. Well done to David for getting us access to the Vulcan for the photo opportunity and the shelter under its wings during the heavy rainstorm which passed over.

We had 8 Elans - three from the north (BigErch, Scotlan & me), three from Edinburgh (ab2cv, ronjr, revlj) one from the borders (Rambo) and one from the west (M100_DMM). It was a long way to go (320 miles round trip for me), but we had a good time.

Some photos:

It was a good day out and nice to catch up with people. The only thing that was missing was a rendezvous at a pub afterwards :drunk:

Did that photo of that bunch of kids outside the model shop come out John ??

Great photos, John. I'll upload some when I get around to editing them. There are even rumours, as yet unconfirmed, of a short film................

Scott,
Where have you been hiding then? Good to see you back.

I'm not available for the run I'm afraid. The car's in the garage for the duration of salt spreading and between Christmas & New Year is the time we drive the family bus over half of Scotland visiting relatives.

Compliments of the season,
John

I've been hiding in my bunker secretly planning the taleover of a F1 team, painting the cars Black & Gold, and calling it Team Elan, er I meant team Lotus Renault Geni Capital Caterham Malaysia F1, oops looks like I've been gone so long that some people have beaten to that idea... What about a Team F1 Isuzu then ?

We used to go. 4-5 M100's. mainly old chaps with baby Elans. Might have changed now, not been 3-4 yrs. Big Arch moved up north and Rambo moved down to Borders.
