Iain and myself are going there on friday, so when you arrive at the site on saturday, look for a yellow and a silk red elan parked close together. Its very likely that that will be us!

can the majority of us aim to get there for about 4pm. we can then do a reccy on the local supermarket and get some grub in. if we can do this we can pool the spend. those not arriving til later (Stevie, muley, nick) we'll buy on your behalf. put this forward as a proposal to be changed as necessary.

Russ - i'm planning to do the scenic route from west sussex if you want to meet up on route then let me know.

BBQ's going so far are from Iain (subject to purchase from homebase) Jim and me. Thats 3, is this enough for all of us, probably if we bbq in shifts. I intend that my bbq will be good for a fire (burning leftover charcoal) Might try to pick up some logs from the local garage.

I don't actually have a BBQ - I was just offering to bring charcoal and starter fluid because I want to get rid of it (we're on gas now)

Please count Jen and I out of the group food buy - we are on a strict diet at present - well, strictish ... We assume we will be breakfasting there ? We'll have cooker, pan and kettle ...

Our e.t.a. is 7:00 p.m. approx. Jen might need a hand from a strapping bloke to put the tent up if I'm delayed for any reason.

Do you want me to bring a gazebo ? - this would be the one that we made famous at Lepe in 2005 !!

ok, no probs, the gazebo (if you have room would be good to stop the evening dew) might be a good idea. My intention is to BBQ quite a lot of veg which is quite tasty to which you are most welcome so you don't feel to out of it. No probs with the tent - we'll sort things out (take it Jens under canvas for the night???

I'll find a cheap BBQ, won't pick up charcoal though (assuming Jim's got a big stash?).

On orders from the beloved that we have to go to the butchers to get sausages (enough for tea and brekkie no doubt).

Sarah also wants to pick up nice rolls (baps) from the local bakery.

If everyone else is happy to pick up burgers and whatever else then we can divvy the lot up?

Thanks Jim, I did read that before but the write up is not there anymore so get an error. It does just do the one click thing so assumed worse, but after lunch I'll totally disconnect my battery and try a donor one.

Is the support vehicle for me? and this 'Starter Fluid' you mention... is it some magic liquid you pour into your stater motor and hey presto, it works?

How things change in a couple of days... I now have my renault back and michelle has got herself a mini so if I can't get the lotus going we shall be there one way or another.

PS are you still going to try and meet up on route?

Michelle has her mini run from brighton to ringwood (can't remember where in ringwood at mo) so i shall work on the lotus in the morning and meet her there. Then we will both drive to the campsite. I was planning on getting to campsite around 5ish don't think I'll be able to make 4.

I shall bring a bbq. It is quite small but has long legs. It was a cheapy I bought in calais. Everyone is welcome to use it. I may bring my party grill for a micro-biological show and tell.

Hi

Well now the imobiliser has given up the ghost and I am sitting in Guildford with a dead ******* car.

I will be there regardless but probably not in the Elan unless I can figure out how to bypass a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/imobiliser.

Good call on the tray type BBQ's I asume if BBQs are off the ground they cannot complain. I will not be going to Fairford and don't worry about shopping for me as Mrs H has my meal sorted for Saturday evening (probably a sodding pot noodle knowing my luck).

Looks like like it was my battery, Disconnected it and ran jump leads from my sweet running, quiet renault straight to the power leads in the elan. It did take a few attempts to turn over instead of just clicking but ran a beauty. Took my old battery (still under warranty from halfrauds) and they replaced it for me. (they tested it first and said it was low but servicable, i said it didn't charge up after 20mins of being on jump leads from another car so they put it on charge for a min or so, retested and it said battery was buggered).

Got my rubbing exhaust sorted today too. The bolt that keeps it in place by the sump was missing. After a bit of a game got one in and now no rubbing
