Oh no...not in the Bloody winter again...can we do a proper one in the sun as well this year and do a run and all that?

Not been online for ages.the car is still off the road..so have to "arrive by air !" everywhere now!only just seend these comments after the last meet...had a great time people....does anyone have a prefered new venue for meeting..it seems as though people have travelled to us as this venue is just down the road for several of us.

Yes, I know it's "bl**dy winter" but if we are to make this a regular "event", then a meet every three months or so will inevitably produce a couple of "bl**dy winter" meetings. (Well one, to be precise but I know what you mean ) The other problem is that people are more likely to be doing other things and attending other events in the Summer, so it does become somewhat more difficult to arrange a meet when the weather's improved. We'll still try for a Summer meet up and run later this the year though.

As you suggest, I'm now looking for bar meal type pubs (that serve kebabs! ) roughly in the middle of an area covering Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Nottingham. Any suggestions for a suitable pub would be very welcome.

How about Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn ? (It's not in Cheshire! )

Tripadvisor seems to like it! The menu's quite varied, no kebabs though.

Also, the weather will have to be fairly decent.

Now then... these web links are for two different pubs! One in Castleton and the other in Hope. Hope and Castleton are only 4 miles apart and both pubs are good so it doesn't matter which one you pick... I just wouldn't want half of us at one pub and the other half at the other...

Lovely part of the country.. we'll struggle for parking at both pubs.. Castleton becomes very busy between April and Sept.. But both places are worth a 'drive through' and there is lots of parking outside of Castleton to stand and stare at our cars..

one of my all time favourites.......I remember playing it once where the solo trombone player had an instrument failure during the trombone feature section......
the conductor tried singing it but it didnt quite sound the same.....although his singing could be heard from the back of the auditorium......
make sure your kit it fully functioning before getting on stage
