Had a bit of an extra drive home - decided to stick to motorway, but upon entering M42 at J3 noticed signs saying that M5S sliproad was closed..... no problem, went Noth to J4 (only a mile), round roundabout and M5S.

Only 2 1/2 miles out of my way - except then saw signs to say M5S was closed between 4a and 6 :(

So, back up the M42. Diversion was posted from J2, but there were a lot of lorries going off at the junction so decided that the A38 wasn't going to be much fun.... carried on to J3 (where I started from) and went down A46 to M5 J9.

An extra 14 miles on my journey, but it is a better road than A38.... :burnout: :burnout:

Still, it was a good evening, and I've found the link to this years' Christmas menu - table booked for Sunday 18th December at 1330hrs. We'll probably aim to meet in the bar from 1300 hrs.

I don't want to steal Martins job, so won't request meal selections :D

(PS - we want 2 x Soup, 1 x Turkey & 1 x Lamb, 1 x Creme Brulee & 1 x Cheese board)

Geoff & Pete - are you in the UK and free? :poke: :poke:

John, Neil, phil.... (and anyone else will be welcome :D ) :poke:

'Fraid not, when I saw your menu options I was optimistic, but your date is too late as we're cooking turkey in Cyprus this year (that isn't a geopolitical statement by the way!).

Is there a November meet planned as we are back at the end of the month?

I shaln't be making the trip tonight - the weather isn't particularly appealing for a 2 hour each way drive in the elan. See you at the Christmas luch

Re: West Midlands XMAS MEAL - RESPONSES NEEDED PLEASE

Postby maz_r » Mon 28.11.2016, 22:15

Hello West Mids Team (and other interlopers);

I have spectacularly failed to advertise the LEC Mids Xmas Meal (as was pointed out at the last meeting but I still can't get my act together :()

OK; here are the details:

1:00 pm for 1:30 on the 18th December at the Coach and Horses, Weatheroak.

We have currently booked a table for 10. I have deposits from 5 peeps as follows:

1 Martin & Sue
2 John & Grace
3 Pete(zipp) & ?
4 Joao & ?
5 Dave & Angie

Naturally, other are very welcome BUT I need to know as soon as possible please and I will have to check we can get extra spaces - first come, first served etc.

We need to let the restaurant know our menu choices. The correct menu is here: Lunch Menu. Please can you let me know, or I shall have to pick for you.....!

I'm afraid to say that Dave and Pete have picked from the wrong menu, so can you please have another look and choose again; sorry :(

I look forward to your various mutterings and protestations.
