East Mids, Feb See Nicks Thread, Mar TBA

Edit Latest:

For Feb please consider Nicowalkers South Yorks thread although it may mean a bit of a drive for some (thats why you've got the car however :-D )

Next Meet I will hopefully organise will be March

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, I'm looking at starting something a bit more local for us East Midlanders that have not been near enough for the usual "Anglian" East Midlands meets, being a bit further North should bring it into range (via the M1) of anybody from South Yorkshire as well.

I know theres a few of us but dont really know anybody (Except Enright & elanman :-D ) so it would be an opportunity for us locals to get to know each other

So can we have some numbers, ideas, locations etc etc, I'm happy to organise and I'm only expecting a minimum of 3 or 4 to start (hopefully increasing in numbers as we get established).

how does ashbourne sound?????
its a good run out including twisty roads....
just a thought........Im up for it
not far from bakewell pudding shop, ashbourne ginger bread, hartington stilton.........not that I'm thinkin of food
just thought it might give us points of interest...:)
failin that donington....altho if we do that youll need to pick sundays away from weekends as it might get difficult avaoiding the bikers and classic car owners....dont mind either way.........
just a thought into the pot at this stage......
cheers

I believe we met at Enwrights quad bike adventure ?

Other locations might be Shardlow where the East Midlands Lotus boys meet, or out the other side of Nottingham, there are some nice pubs in the Vale of Belvoir.

Nice one G!

I've removed any reference to "East" and "Mids" from the other thread in favour of "Anglian" so as to distinguish between the two groups.

Strictly speaking, Rutland is as " East Midlands " as you get, but if we're not welcome ?

Sorry, not been on much the last few days. Anyway I've created a map of peoples locations who have shown interest (Had to guess what North Derbyshire meant!! )

Google Map

Looks like I'm about in the middle with most of us on the M1 corridor, I'll now look at a venue. Whos up for a curry?

Excellent, Looks like we are looking at somewhere around North Nottingham to be centralised for everyone which makes Enright our resident local who probably knows his local eateries better than I do. To be honest the first place that sprung to mind was the place we went for his Birthday but the parking isn't great.

The other option is to head out into Derbyshire to one of the places suggested before, Ashbourne, Shardlow, Melbourne (as per Donny earlier in the year).

As for days, are we looking Weeknight, Friday or Saturday that would be best for people. I'm easy either way so will just go with the flow

Hi

Like the sound of a curry. Don't know any with a big car park thou. Maybe it'll have to be a pub with curry on the menu??

I'd like to meet in daylight in order to check out the cars but that mightn't be so easy in the winter. May be breakfast instead?

Otherwise any evening is fine (as long as the wife and kids let me out)...

Regards
Gary
