Rip,
Steve A and Paul69 and I are looking to meet on Wednesday at the Hare at Roxwell as the turn out for the cricketers has dwindled recently. It is a bit further over for you but if you fancy that we will be there. Let me know if you need details

Roxwell is too far for me in an evening.
I completely agree with why you have switched to there from Rickling Green though.

Me neither.
I think the Rickling Green meet has died...for now at least.

We started meets in Stortford because it was central to some who attended others regularly: Spud (Stortford), Nobby (Hertford), DaveT (Ipswich), Me (Milton Keynes) & Dico (overnight truck stop at Stortford).
We all used to meet Paul.P & Gary near Peterborough but started meeting at a location central to us.
Then Bob & Caroline (Saffron Walden) joined us.

With most of the above attending less regularly (or not at all), recent meets have seen increasing numbers from Essex....
..so it seems understandable that they prefer something more central & local to themselves.

Maybe an ad-hoc meet on a Sunday would be possible?

that sounds like a good idea one idea that myself and steve were chatting about was a saturday morning breakfast club meeting for only lotus cars at the hare and hound the owner would be happy to accomadate us all and as i am a lotus club member to i feel sure that the two could come together , as with most things LEC though no disrespect but there is an awfull lot of chat but very little ever happens which is why our little Essex group are now finding our own entertainment, but if people are interested we can approach the owner of the hare.......

I disagree.
There is bugger all chat on here compared with 4-5 years ago.
Consider that Donington is less than 2 weeks away. In the past, the Donington section went crazy way before now.

I'm not sure Paul.
The 2 Calibra forums are quieter now than the (1 before it split) was 2 years ago when I joined.
I think the late winter has hurt things. Sub zero temperatures & salty roads were usually gone long before now.

But that's not all of it.
Ever increasing fuel prices can't help.
The recessaion has made many cut back. Maybe not enough to make many of us sell up, but certainly to a point where money has to go on other things instead of group buys & to stop us driving our cars as frequently as we otherwise would.
