My 'Potential' has increased as of today with a shiny new MOT and brakes that work better than they ever have in the past :D

I had Dormans on the red car - never great, but worked okay enough for the MOT (until the cable broke and wrote the car off!!!) - i think the problem is the actual casting not being the same as the elan ones, so the handbrake lever isn't perfectly aligned?????

I replaced my back callipers for the MOT with a set I rebuilt using the kit I got from Muley - nowt wrong with the old callipers if you want them - the sliders even work.

I only re-built the 'spare' ones as I wanted to play with zinc electroplating.

As a bit of a 'best of both' you could use Lotus callipers with the Dorman sliders (aluminium) if you don't want to keep having to re-grease them.....

Yep,

Still looking good for me.

(is there anything I need to bring for anyone? I know I've got the stainless sill plates for Mike to have a look at, but have I offered/promised anything else for anyone else???)

Excellent trip over to meet with you guys and a nice lunch and catch up on all things Lotus :gathering:

Beautiful day for a drive with the roof down only marred by the fact our good friend Roland wasn't able to be with us :(
Had to divert on the way home just after leaving the The Carriage house due to the road being blocked by an accident we think, didn't get too close and managed to find a route around it whilst there were blue lights and siren's heading there from all directions.

Hope everyone got home safe and look forward to catching up wit you all again soon

Unfortunately, we got closer than would have been ideal (but not actually involved in the collision). :(

One man with a smashed up right leg, and an old boy in the other car who had a flight in the helicopter (blood pressure kept dropping through the floor :( :( )

Spent an hour in the back of the Ford Focus with Arthur in the drivers' seat, keeping his head immobile whilst the Fire Brigade cut the roof off and we could get him out on a spinal board to the Air Ambulance.

Up until that point, though, it was a smashing day out and good to meet old friends, and make some new ones.
