Is this an Elan only event, or would you allow one of those horrid newfangled Evoras to come along (I can hang back if needed so as not to embarrass you all)

All welcome.

Rob came with a non-Elan last time - indeed, a non-Lotus.

Be great to catch up with you, Kier.

We're going for a BBQ I take it? and if the weathers like this then the trunks are coming along so remember to bring your harpoons. What was the pub we met at before going off to Lepe last time?

Good to hear from you, Rob.

My Elan is in bits (rear brake challenge) but hopefully will be back together.

Anyhoo, I suggest we meet at the John Barleycorn Pub, like we did in '06 (!) - say at 12:00 midday ish

Suggest we stick with J1 of the M27 (Cadnam). When exiting head into Cadnam (if from the North then first exit off the roundabout, if from the south it's the third) a short stretch of dual carriageway, before the next roundabout take the first left then almost immediately left again at a T junction (opposite Silverbrow kitchens). A couple of hundred yards on the right hand side is the Sir John Barleycorn Pub, plenty of parking around the pub, suggest we make that the RV. Route down to Lepe from there takes about 40 mins of steady (New Forest speed limit of 40 MPH) driving. Past the entrance to Beaulieu Motor Museum, through Beaulieu village. Note the usual New Forest Hazards of cattle and ponies in the road.

Lepe has a small Cafe/restaurant and great views over the Solent to the IoW.

Sound like a plan?

..thanks to Nige for the above

I'll bring a gazebo plus bbq etc. Also bat & ball game for Chris..

Chris, Jim & Rob
Sorry chaps but am afraid we will be unable to make it on Sunday
A combination of work commitments and concerns for an elderly family member mean that even if we made the effort we would probably be wondering what was occurring back at home and not be able to relax and enjoy the day anyway.
We all have periods in life like this and we are sure you will understand.
I certainly hope to come to the H&C in September and will bring my copy of a certain book starring a well known Scotsman i :D
Have a good afternoon

Yes, should have gone for a swim.

It was a real pleasure to see Ollie and Charlie enjoying themselves. To be honest, they wore me out a bit, too!

..and our bat survived for another day!

Oh, and Ollie took his stabilisers off!

Cheers

A bit later in the year this year. The plan is to go to Frensham Ponds near Farnham. This means that meeting at the H&C and then convoying to the ponds is the way to go. No BBQs allowed so picnics I'm afraid. If the weathers good then you may want to go for a swim, then maybe you might not! Forecast is set fair for the next 7 days. Append your names accordingly.

Meet H&C for 2pm
