Didn't get chance to put the car back together today and have a work commitment at 8pm, but may pop down afterwards depending how long you will all be there?

Sounds good Andy - my car is back together and I will take it to work for the fun of it, but will check here before heading from work to the Grasshopper to see if there is an expected 'end' time. I'd probably not be able to get there until about 2130. I guess it will be getting dark not much after 10 so perhaps it's not practical for me.

I will check back later to see what you guys (and girls?) think.

From memory around 9:30 on previous occasions but that may have the December meet. Latest might be 10 but that all depends on the conversation flow I guess.

Thanks for a nice evening chaps.

I hadn't expected to get over and thoroughly enjoyed chatting to you all. Even enjoyed the drive to and from the meet, which saw me test my headlamps - got to say they are better than a lot of modern cars!

Anyway, while I realise that Trevor took a much better photo, here was mine, taken in the twilight just after my rude mid-conversation phone call.,.. (sorry!).

Westerham meet - 16 June 2015

Taken at 21:46, proving that we LECers were still going strong while it got dark around us.

I suggested a 'fish and chip run' or similar for a future meet, which seemed to gain a bit of support. Perhaps meet somewhere mutually convenient and convoy to the coast, eat the aforementioned fish and chips overlooking the sea and take a leisurely drive back again. With these warm summer evenings, that sounds like fun to me. What say everyone else?

Cars looking great as always guys!

A fish and chip run to the coast sounds like a great idea, maybe next month some time? August is going to be pretty busy for me with getting married and going on a our honeymoon so ;)

Any suggestions for location? I think Trevor may be able to vouch for Herne Bay, the seafront is nice and there are a fair few places to park up for the obligatory photo.

Yes, Herne Bay has some good fish restaurants but probably a little too far for the Sussex guys we need somewhere which is
a little bit in the middle. More on the south coast of Kent/Sussex border perhaps. I'm not familiar with that area so any
suggestions :?:

Just an alternative suggestion for discussion.

Would somewhere around Bexhill/Hastings be better? If so I could take a drive down there at some point and scope out the area.

Hastings isn't the nicest seaside town but there is plenty of parking and fish and chip shops. Bexhill is a bit better but further away from the Kent border.

We could meet inland somewhere at a pub with a car park, maybe Bodmin Castle or Rye perhaps and drive down to Hastings or Bexhill.

If there is interest I'll go take a look.

Good to see you all at the Grasshopper by the way, we do need to find a better venue in future one that has drinks at the bar and affordable too

Hasting and bexhill are alomost a 2hr drive for me, so not sure I'd be up for that.

How about Rye/Camber or maybe Dymchurch?

How about Dymchurch then.

There is a large car park next to Martello Tower No 25 on the front and a Fish and Chip shop up the road called beach48

I've never been there, just going by Google maps sat view :(

Anybody familiar with Dymchurch?

I've not been there for a very long time, but I have fond memories of the bumper cars and ghost train haha

There are a fair few car parks along the sea front, some tarmac some dirt. The fish and chips I remember going to was next to the arcades, a short walk from the car parks.

I went to Dymchurch not long ago, the car park you mention looks ideal as we sat in there eating fish and chips one evening, before driving home.

How well does the location work for everyone else?

It'd be good to meet up somewhere and drive down in convoy, take in some A roads as well as the more obvious M20.

About an hours drive from here. :)
