Joao had previously mentioned the need for a bit of LEC courier systems - if he has it, I'll collect it!

Well, he remembered, and I currently have it in the boot of the car!

Just got back - only a slight diversion - don't ever listen to John O. if he says that the M5 will definitely be open southbound....... it was shut from 4A to 6......

..... luckily I saw the sign just before J2 of the M42, so a minor diversion via Reditch and on towards Evesham before picking up the A46 down to J9.....

...... then it was closed at J17 for roadworks, but only off and back on again, so only 30 minutes at that one due to muppets who didn't know what lanes to use on the roundabout causing a huge tailback.

It was a good turnout, and nice to meet Deepak (sp?) who alegedly owns a yellow M100 but no -one has seen it (he did have a picture so we believe him!).

4 elans, and 2 other cars made the trip with 7 of us sitting on the most uncomfortable stools I have perched on in a long time.

The 0.1% happened yes the M5 was closed. But it was worse as the local council decided to re-surface the first roundabout down the A38 and had traffic light control, so the backlog was a nightmare all the 2 miles way to the motorway. All clear once past it, but took ages!

On the bright side, hood down all the way home, nicely cacooned with heater and heated seat on. :D :D :D

Good meet though, despite the seats. Need an advance scout to grab a proper table and chairs next time!

Sorry can't make July, but see you in August :D  :gathering:

Honestly, if the ceremony is at 10:00am and our event isn't until 7:30pm, I can't see what the problem is....

The problem? :poke:

The problem will be John's generosity with that open bar (he's obliged to provide) and therefore none of us will be in a fit state to drive.............

In that case, can I ask for special dispensation to bring the campervan instead of the elan to the July meeting at Malvern :D

John,

I am prepared to accept your reason for non-attendance this month..... poor planning, but still acceptable.

(enjoy your day - and pass on our best regards to Grace for going along with this folly of spending the rest of her life with you)

Thanks Dave, I will (to coin a phrase!) pass it on, but I think she is aware of the pitfalls. Just dropped into another deep one (see signature)

Hmmmm, does that mean that the red one hasn't had to go to provide space for it?????

For now, yes. It will get some TLC in various areas (already had spray touch up) and ultimately sell for a better price than I was offered as px.

In the meantime I will wave at any other Lotus I see on the road, whichever car I'm in!!!!! (See relevant thread)

Pete,
seems like we have no other takers.
I think its best we just meet next month back with the normal schedule.
