Hello all. I am new to this site, but not to the Lotus marque. I have just bought a 1997 Kia Elan. I know, it may be looked at as sacrilege, but Kia bought the rights to the M100, the same way that Caterham bought the rights to the Seven. I look forward exchanging on similarities and differences in the future. Cheers!

Welcome from your southern neighbors.
The KIA is a bit of an enigma: Lotus body and design but Korean drivetrain and interior.
You will have to provide a lot of pictures so we can make compare and comment about the differences.

I think I have a workshop (or parts?) manual of the Kia Elan somewhere.
EDIT: I think I know where it comes from:

Claude,
This is a marvelous community of enthusiasts. You are very welcome to join us.
I have a good friend who lives in Ottawa - Manotick, actually - that I visited last summer. Hearing about your winters, I guess you take your car off the road for most of the year.

Hello Claude, and welcome to the group. Actually Claude and I are old friends from way back. Claude is a Lotus fanatic, with several Lotus cars including an early Elan which he races. Next month we are going out for a long weekend with our British car club, and Claude will be showing off his latest Elan...looking forward to see it.

Welcome to LEC lotusgagne,
I don't think anyone really cares if its an SE S2 or a Kia ...
As long as you get plenty of smiles per hour you are part of our club .
Now about those excellent rear lights.
Jim Clark S2 on the way . The one with the Yellow spoke wheels .
