Hi I have a non turbo M100 which always started straight away, I went to Australia for 3 months and on my return the car failed to start. The fuel pump makes the normal priming sound and there is a good spark at the plugs all the ignition fuses are ok and there is no immobiliser to worry about baffled! Ps there is fuel in the tank. Any ideas welcome.

Hi Sorry for the delay (covid) no the plugs are not getting wet but the fuel pump is working and the pressure is good, the fuel pressure regulator is new, the car starts with fuel poured down the pistons as there is a good spark I fear it’s not getting a signal from the ECU but have no way of checking.

Hmmm. You could try removing an injector, then turn the engine over to check fuel is getting through.

I’ve recently had the same issue with my NA and I solved it by removing the distributor cap and cleaning the contacts inside and out and also making sure the HT leads were making good contact. Don’t forget to mark / remember which lead goes where!
Give that a try.

John
