OK, Just rang Village cars and they dont have a 12 seater minibus but they can send 2 six seaters so I've booked them.

They will be doing two pick ups, one from the Travelodge and one from the Holiday Inn Express. They will be picking up at about 7PM. The total cost for both of the cars will be about £28 which seems like a decent price to me.

Edit: If we need more than two cars just give them a ring and ask them to tag another one onto the end of the taxi convoy

Glad it's sorted - Blame Neil for the duff info about the 12 seater!

Okay then, how does everyone feel about this:-

As the HI bar seems as good a place as any to meet up, if we are all there for about 1830 (if you're on the gupta bus) that would be good.

If i ring up the Melbourne and get the gupta bus to collect from the HIE at the pre-aranged 1845 hours.
One of G's taxis from the HIE at 1900
T'other one at 1900 from TL? (or HI as you see fit)

I will elect myself as 'Load Master' and try to get everyone to the Melboure arms :)

Anyone who wishes to, may make make a donation as they see fit, into a large hat which i shall have in my possession.
If each of us on a bus/taxi were to drop 2 English pounds into said hat, it would be quite heavy, with a value of (16+12)x2=£56.

This could be divvied up as follows:-
£28 used to pay the taxi firm.
£5 tip for each taxi driver.
£18 for bus driver.

If we need another taxi on the day, the figures can be adjusted accordingly.

Additionally, I would suggest that anyone else who uses the bus at the end of the evening may wish to chuck a quid into the pot for the one-way journey.
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually.....

I know esp88 is coming but isn't on either transport list and will not be in a car..... just wondering how many of the other 20 might decide they need a lift.........

Sounds a good plan Dave - I'm more than happy to fit in with whatever is decided. And it's very generous of you "Gupta transport" team to chip in with the overall transport costs

PS The tip to the "Gupta transport" guy is also a good one as we all piled out pished last year leaving him with nothing but grief that his good friend Mustapha had been "borrowed" by Stef

I've asked the taxis I've booked to make two pick ups so I'd guestimate there going to drive in convoy and stop at both hotels.

Can I ask that only those who have put there names down use these two taxis so we dont have people who thought they had a lift being stuck.

If there are more people wanting another taxi somebody can give Village Cars a ring on 01332 706020 and see if they'll add another car or two to Grahams booking.

I rang Village Cars and booked another 4 seat taxi from the Holiday Inn Express, at 7, for myself and the wife. Two spare places if anyone wants to share.

OK

I'll do two runs before I hit the beer. I'll take Dan, Gail and as many others who are ready over at 1830 (from the Holiday Inn), then come back for Steve and Lesley A, plus a couple more at 1900 (from the Holiday Inn).

I'll also come past around 7pm in the Pug so can take up to 4 from the reception of either place.
