Up to you Monts. I can't really get away much before 1pm anyhow so if we leave at 2pm (allowing for friday traffic) to get to knutsford for 3.30pm it isn't all that much later.

Monty,
Dico,
You've had some long cold waits for us in previous years, so I'll understand if you want to tootle down without hanging around.

Just worried that you won't be able to find your way past that second-to-last roundabout :-D   .

You could always give me a call when you're ready to leave just to check where we are. Either way, see you at the curry.

Final list for the trip from all points north is as below.

I will send PMs to those who have confirmed, giving what mobile 'phone numbers I know about, so that people can keep in touch in case somebody misses a rendezvous. If anybody 'phones me during the trip, you should leave a voicemail, as I don't have a hands-free kit which will meet the new laws and still be audible in an Elan with the hood down on a motorway; I'll get back to you at the next stop.

Please aim to be at the rendezvous in good time, as the journey will be long enough without additional hanging about.

People driving down on Friday: John_W, Andy_J, Farran, Gareth (Elanman), Sooty, Steve Ghost, Tony TC, 5imon, Andy Bailey?, Monty+Dico?,
No shows: Andrew Ennis (house DIY = no MOT); Stevo (work); BigErch (work); Rambo (driving from the south).

We may still be up for this John, we're just not very good with decisions :? . Think we're going to see what the weather's like.
I'll be passing Abington services myself on thursday 8)

Don't wait for us though, if we are coming (Dico as Monty's co pilot) we will be nice and early.
If not see you in the bar :smt030

Monty,
Excellent news. That make a total of nine at 3 pick-up points:

Abington services:
Arrive @ 11.30 am, depart @ 12.00 noon.
1… John W Pacific Blue
2… Farran Pacific Blue
3… Andy J BRG

The Egerton Arms near Knutsford:
Arrive @ 3.30 pm, depart @ 3.45 pm.
4… Gareth (theelanman) Norfolk Mustard
5… Sooty Pacific Blue
6… Monty & Dico Calypso Red & black stripes
7… Simon 51mon Calypso Red

Plus two of Gareth's mates who'll join us from the bottom of the Cat and Fiddle for a ride over to Buxton (not sure if they're Elans). Apparently Andy Bailey can't make it.

See you tomorrow.

Hi Gareth,
I will be alone at Arigi's as Tony (TC) had an accident this morning on the ice and put his Elan through a hedge backwards. He is OK, but the Elan suffered suspension and body damage!

Well, we almost all met up (however briefly), and kept to time better than previous years.

Andy_J, Farran & I met up at Abington and had an easy trip to the Egerton Arms, to find Monty & Dico in the bar, which had unfortunately just shut, but not before Dico got a pint.

Gareth arrived just in time to get slung out into the car park where we all waited for 5imon & Sooty. All seven of us then set off to follow Gareth for the 2007 Elan assault on the Cat & Fiddle.

Having conquered it last year with a direct route, Gareth obviously thought we should try surrounding it this year instead. Seven cars, seven different directions, and most of us never found Ghost... or the Cat & Fiddle.

Never mind, it was fun and we all got to Donington in the end. And I managed to get a photo of seven Elans in the Egerton Arms.

And I notice the BFG has edged forwards to get a bit of extra attention.
