Monty,

You can link to them via the Flickr link in the earlier post, or directly to the Original image via these URLS...

Looking clean and mean!

Spank it!

If I'd had my brain engaged I'd have looked for the driver at the time!

Cheers,
Ian

No probs Monty.

Sorry for the shock of the comments on Flickr, I've never been a stripes person (sorry to Doug and Ekapol too ;) ) but I will say the urge to "sit in it a minute" has never been so high as when I was strolling towards Stripey looking at how intact you paintwork was, and how good Marie's bars looked fitted, the complete opposite of my car which is slowly becoming the Lotus equivalent of a rat-bike with Lotus leprosy, tatty seals, and dodgy brakes!

Ah, the joys of ownership.

Didn't make it to the curry this year, I got dragged out by some mates who'd not seen me for twelve months, still impressed we got there as early as we did on Saturday!

Cheers,
Ian

Just noticed this comment on the MSN photo gallery...

"This tiny coupe, with its 1216cc Coventry Climax engine, is car design purity at its very best. (Second generation Lotus Elan)"

ermmm think he's got the wrong end of the engine stick here.

He's talking about the Type 14 Tony. If you read his notes from photograph #1, it all makes sense (nearly). He adds the car type in the picture in brackets at the end of the text. :?

Right, just for 2 different pictures with M100's in he calls them 2nd Gen Elans (which I wasn't sure was right). Maybe the comments are out of sync in some way.

Yeh, the photo's and text don't match at all when there is an Elan in the picture.

The comments are a somewhat fragmented commentary and the text in brackets refers to the pictures.

I think second generation Elan is a reasonable way to describe the M100 or FWD Elan.
