I was asking the car barn to align my elan in October maybe November 2022 it wasn't long ago.
They told me they use the Aston Martin workshop tool to do alignment and the machine broke down months ago and no one was willing to commit to a date to get a replacement machine

That's about the same time I was there. They told me that it was scheduled for repair in a couple of weeks. They know my Elan needs aligning and are ready to take it as soon as its ready for them to align so its a bit of a mystery Alex works in the workshop of the Aston Workshop. I will ask him what is going on. I used Revolution at Dunston for my Lotus Esprit S2 but I think they have gone now.

I found the email i sent them.

21/09

I didn't get any reply from them, and i drove by a few days later when I spoke with someone (i think was called Gary) who seemed aware of my email.
The fella wasn't happy to turn business away and we had a pleasant chat. only after a bit of prodding told me they use the Aston Martin workshop alignment tool/machine. And it was out of commission for a while.

Are you joining the neloc gather up meetings?

That's a shame Mike after all your, and Jimbob's, work on the car :(

Incidentally, have you ever had to use the Car Barn at Beamish for any work on your own cars? Can you recommend them for Lotus work?

I also have a friend with an Aston Martin asking too.

Hi
I gave JUFs to the Car Barn to do some minor fettling such as 4 wheel alignment, headlight adjustment, final brake bleeding and torque tightening the suspension pivot bolts prior to offering for sale. I cannot comment on their standard of workmanship as I do knot know yet what it is like however, what I can say is I think it best you get them to quote first before carrying out any work.
Colin at Revline Whitley Bay is normally reasonably priced and does know his way around the M100.

Cheers Mike

Well JUFs is at the car barn not driven by myself ( I simply couldn't its unbelievable better than new) fully restored expertly inspected tested warrantied and valued by the Car Barn . The Car Barn are basically the non Aston Martin part of a Globally well known and renown Aston Martin official service agent / restoration specialist. The photos on their website do not do the car justice.
If anyone is interested you can contact me directly. 8)

Its still for sale I am sourcing some UK spec Springs to lower the ride height away from Jimbobs preference but it seems thats what people want.

Its at the Car Barn currently. If you are a serious buyer looking for a better than new in many ways this SE Elan must be seen. Remember the SEs are more powerful than the cat strangled S2s.

All the suspension components and Chassis have been treated to protect from the UK weather. The new body tub has also been treated to protect the metal reinforcement comonents of the shell for the future, so in effect rust prevention from new.
It is also one of the rare last SEs with perforated charcoal leather and 6 position heater controls. Talk to me directly regarding buying the car if you are a serious M100 enthusiast. PM me and I will supply contact details. 8)
