Here's the results of the barke test

Just MOTd mine and I have the smaller Wilwood kit on the front, with similar results to yours (kgf I presume?). My rears are MUCH lower though. I'm getting about 60-70 on the footbrake and not much more on the handbrake. This is with Dormans, greenstuff pads and drilled/grooved discs.

What am I doing wrong?

Personley i wouldn`t use green stuff on the rears as i remeber how bad they are when i had them on the fronts with stock calipers. I`ve used the EBC standard pads. My rear calipers aren`t the doormans but i fitted Bob browns sliding pins, also i don`t think it`s worth going to dotted disc on the rear as IMHO your take away the contact area (might not make any difference)

BTW the MOT tester was saying mine were a low effort on the rear footbrake and thats at 90 but he does know the Elan is like this as i`ve been going there ever since i`ve had PinkyII and he knows the car

Just to update my project thread

Fitted the MSD coils a couple off weeks ago (courtesy off Neil)

I`ve now got a remote boot lock fitted with a hidden switch

What a superb bit off kit, nice neat welds, 13 fixing points and only weights in at 10.5kg
The sad thing is i won`t have it fitted for the Hethel trip, so can`t show it off

A Hose Adaptor from Demon Tweeks which takes the sensor (M10x1) was fitted in to the top oil hose which goes to the right handside of the oil cooler (under the Drivers wheel liner)

The Gauge is only in temperary as i want the insert done in Carbon fiber, i did think about putting a clock next to the temp gauge but it`s a tight to get 2 gauges in that space So i might off set the gauge and fit a switch for the paper clip test

Simons Bars are now installed, there not straight forward to fit ie fare bit off body has to be cut, drilling, welding inserts relocating the fuel tank strap etc But at least i know there up to the job and can one day help save my life. There`s 11 fixing points and 5 of those go direct to the chassis. Also replaced the Fuel filter (again) as there`s not much access once the bars are in place. Just got to finish of trimming the interior to fit

Wow! I didn't realize the body modifications were so extensive. I guess that's the price to pay for safety and rigidity. Still, cutting up an Elan should always give one pause.

Yes got 4 point harness (Some old pics here viewtopic.php?f=79&t=2737&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=280) funny you should mention it as i`ve just refitted the shoulder straps on the passenger side. I`ve got the Wrap round type (which i got from Hanger 111 ) I`ve just put them round the vertical bit on the hoops (all take some Pic`s tomo`s)
If you decided on the bolt in type ask Simons if it`s ok to drill the rollbar to fit a bolt
