JPS conversion

JPS conversion

Postby Mikee » Tue 10.01.2012, 23:42

I am not sure if this is a MAJOR project or not....But I am treating it as such...

I've recently decided I am going to keep the car (forever).

137K on the clock and after 5 relatively minor pain driving years, I thought I'd convert it to a JPS model.

I read with great interest Paul's project and have seen the original JPS in the flesh and loved it to bits.

So I thought it was time to create my own.
I think i'll probably go a little further in terms of graphics (perhaps not like the Esprit's, but more in the old Europa style), but a little less in terms of interior.

Does anyone have any thoughts/learnings/dislike for the idea/recommendations for vinyls/suppliers/seating/locations for specific items (e.g gold badge) etc.....?
all ideas welcome and taken on board.

This is just the beginning.

I think Paul Parsons did a very good job on his blackie - if that's your thing. I'd suggest if you're going down that route that you contact Paul Parsons by PM (maybe someone on LEC has his e-mail address ? GUK, Dico, dave Ed's ??) Paul will be able to point you in the direction of where he got his graphics, leather seats etc.. done.

PS You can get HiSpec calipers in anodized gold 8)

How about a version of this (maybe without the "Renault" (unless you want that for the rear lights) and "GP" bits  )

Mike, although i rarely post on here nowadays, i do look in most wks, as i still have an interest. This is something i've contemplated doing again myself if funds ever allow, so 002 is a possibility, however, if i can help in anyway in the meantime, please don't hesitate in asking. I'll pm you my contact details.
JPS M100 was built from bare chassis up to create one off M100 in the mould of JPS Team Lotus

Paul I get to see 001 quite regularly and must say you did a fantastic job. I spend lots of time staring in envy every time I see it.

That'd work, especially as Renault donated some parts for the car.
