Unfortunately I don’t think that replace the down pipe is feasible as it is in one length from the point that it leaves the turbo to where it meets the straight part under the car - about 1m - and looking at the photos on the other thread, the original downpipe looks considerably shorter.

I'd love to see some pictures of it.
I hope for you that welding a nut or other cylindrical part with the O2 threat on it in situ will do the trick here

Next time I’m underneath it I’ll try for a photo but not promising!
The main reason for consider8ng closed loop was at the last mot they said it was a struggle to get the emissions right.
