Cap assembly B post right hand side

Postby kevin31157 » Fri 07.04.2017, 14:46

Hi All, i am looking for the little grey plastic cover that covers the hinge connection of the fold down hood just behind the drivers seat. It is on a hinge and covers the hole to make it look tidy and i`m sure to keep the dust out. I`m sure you all know which bit i mean. I need the right hand one as mine has broken off at the pop rivets. I dont need the hinge assembly part just the plastic cap part number B100U0260J. Has anybody got one from an old donor car they would sell me please.
Also, i am looking for the seat belt assembly, not the whole inertia reel etc but just the part that is attached to the drivers seat. Lotus sells the whole assembly but i dont need it all, unless of course it has to be and the plug in reel doesnt fit the seat attachment part to different elans as in some cases on other vehicles. Unfortunately the red plastic cover on mine has broken off and it looks unsightly and i would like to replace it. Anybody have this i would very much like to buy it from a donor vehicle owner.
Many thanks,
Kevin

I lost the drivers side cap and bought a pair via ebay from Wayne in Bahrain. They are 3d printed and bit stronger than the original. The finish is slightly different to the OE so fitted them both and kept the OE as a spare - but it's the wrong side for you. Recommend the ebay solution on Novacaine's link.

Just a bit of a correction: The "B" Post caps are NOT 3D printed.

They were injection molded like the originals and we modified the attachment to make it stronger and easier to install. There is no way to get the same texture as the originals with 3D printing.

Wayne also offers replacement inner door handle escutcheons that are very close to the originals and were produced at the same time.

If you can use Waynes remakes that would help us all.

He put a lot of effort into getting these made for us (circa 7 years ago) when they where obsolete . ( as too the escutcheon)
Wayne is a do'er and good for our cars .
It would be nice to put business his way to reward him for his efforts on our behalf.

Just saying .
Jim Clark S2 on the way . The one with the Yellow spoke wheels .

The original seat belts and the latch part are obsolete. They have not been available for quite a while. Some of the companies that specialize in M100 parts have found similar/acceptable replacement assemblies, but they won't be the original Lotus supplied part and the latch might not work with the original belt end.

You can try to contact Sue at FDTS http://www.fdts-seatbelts.co.uk/Contact-us.html and ask her if she has any suggestions.
