Wanted Side View Mirror

Postby Polymathic » Sat 03.06.2017, 23:39

Does anyone have a sideview mirror for sale? My glass is intact, but one of the hinges broke, so the mirror just floats about... I've been searching around, and can't seem to locate one. I think it's part # A100U0205F

Thank you!

There are no "hinges" per se. There is a cross yoke that the mirror pivots on in both axes and there are two adjusting pins that control the motion by means of the drive motor and the console switches.

More likely, one of your pins has broken.

I have a few new OEM pins left and you can get some made by following the link in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=32&t=18139&p=322842#p322842

Thanks. The pins seem ok. It's one of the plastic parts on the back of the mirror that snaps into the cross yoke that's broken. Seem like I need a new glass.

Which side? The US drivers side is a flat glass and the passenger's side is convex, so not exactly interchangeable.

It's the driver's side, US model. Based on your picture, it's one side of the top yoke pivot that snapped off. Thanks for you help.

Then, you should be asking for the A100U0204F mirror since the driver's side is a flat glass mirror, not a convex glass one.

I have a couple of new A100F0205F but might be able to scrounge up a "not broken" used plate less mirror, but you will find they used good stickum between the mirror, heater and the plate and it is not easy to get the glass off without it breaking.

The replacement mirrors have been obsolete from Lotus since 2009. You can contact me via email by clicking on the icon under my ID.

Thanks! I'll email you. First I will try to separate the mirror from the backing to see if I can even do that without breaking it.
