Damaged S2 repaired

Postby apollo996 » Fri 25.10.2019, 19:35

Hi, I don't normally share this sort of thing but the previous owner (Taco) asked if I would post a picture. It was offered for sale a while back on here.

Its repaired now and literally just back from the paintshop. Needs a deep clean, 4 wheel alignment, the CAS seal doing and some other minor jobs.

Cost to repair was low although I spent another £100 having the wheels power coated plus the cost of a Jamie seal kit. All it needed was a front bumper, intercooler housing & a plastic arch liner. I could of probably of fixed the bumper but I decided the work involved was too much.

Birmingham City Powercoating. £20 a wheel upto 18". The extra £20 was having the tyres removed, refitted & balanced etc.

Well done. All credit to you for saving it. Are you keeping it or selling?
There’s a new member called Roger D near you who’s looking for a car.

And I wish there was a wheel restorer near Aberdeen that was as reasonably priced.

Keeping it along with my 1990 Silver SE Turbo. I sort of fell out of love with Elan's for a while for a number of reasons. Not very practical for me really and the attitude of a few people. Decided to not let it bother me as money for fun ratio the Elan is pretty high :D Selling the Vantage and the Cosworth instead. Will be down to 8 cars then which is still too many.

This is the company who I have used for a few sets of wheels.... excellent service.

They offer a choice of services from bare wheels, to drive in / drive out. I have done both ways in the past, and even couriered a set of wheels to them, had them strip the old tyres, refurb the wheels, and fit new tyres for me.

Paisley freight costs about £20 each way for 4 wheels & tyres - but i combined the collection with a trip to visit my brother in Brum, and an afternoon of pain at St Andrews
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually.....

go on - click this link - you know you want to!
