I have a small leak on the green car, but I have already rebuilt the engine and front suspension, so I took the rear suspension off and resprayed the rear of the Blue Car instead... Does that count for small leak scope creep?

Thing is, Mark, I don’t need another lockdown - I’ve finished it all.

Oh! Apart from the seat retrimming.

And the window mechanism refurb.

And the paint correction . . . . .

I need to get out more, not another lockdown

Happy to share but a) I’ve not found anyone yet (although I do have a lead to someone in Corsham who I’m told has “his own beard and sewing machine”), and b) I probably won’t do anything about it until I’ve recovered from my Small Leak.

Errrr.., won't you need the car taxed before you drive to the garage for your MOT ?

Can't get tax without an MoT. And who said he was driving there?

That's correct, as long as it is pre arranged with thd garage and booked in. But surely you need your car taxed ? I'm sure you can do this on line these days pre MOT

Anyway, J is a legal bod so he can fine himself when it all goes tits up

As you would hope and expect, Mr Pink Is correct. I have a booked MoT at the local garage (booked in the sense that he’s going to call me when he’s got a slot and I’ll turn up 10 minutes later), and I’ll then tax the car when the next tax month comes up.

Actually, it’s all pretty irrelevant, because the Elan has a valid MoT now (it was given a 6 month extension to 19 November during the lockdown), but as I‘ve done so much work on it, I’d rather get someone else to cast their eye over it before I start terrorising the neighbourhood again

Passed MoT :D

No advisories :-D

Emissions too small to notice

Handbrake described as “outstanding”

And the tester said it was in better mechanical condition than most of the “first MoT” cars he sees.

I’ll leave the team to pass judgement at Castle Combe 2021  :gathering:

Probably only down to local Malmesbury to check out a suitable Fri/Sat night pub venue for LEC's trip to Castle Combe next year. We need a new drinking HQ now that The Smoking Dug has finally closed its doors on us  :gathering: :drunk:

Leak is absolutely fine, thanks to the new CoolExperts aluminium radiator and Samco hoses.

As for trips, well, there are not many destinations open at present in our part of the world, although I’m sure I’ll find an excuse to just go and drive it around for the pleasure (if I can remember how - it’s been off the road since March 2nd). Not, however, if it’s raining with the malice and ferocity it’s been for the last three days :banghead:
