yup, the centre console it is. It is made of fibreglass. the cup holder plate is Carbon Fibre. It is magnetic stripped beneath for easy removal to fit the stock inset box incase i need to put stuff instead of drinks. I felt that the car needed a canned drinks holder. the curved up area is where the AVC-R (EBC) will be installed and the iPOD goes into the hand-brake gear area where the driver can easily adjust it

Just further updates on the pics of the rear...centre grille afixed and resprayed. Lotus Elan SE logo removed. Third Brake Lamp from Exige afixed. Lotus emblem to be afixed on the centre grille. The lower bumper hasnt been installed though. The local guys did a decent job and i am happy with the resultant look...

ok, i have now fitted the hood and the seals and webbings provided by trim technology. first of all thanks SY for ever recommending that, next, to trim tech for a good excellent product. next up, there are 2 more seal sets required to make the look new...
1) the seals surrounding the windscreen ...especially the left and right, can they be replaced?
2) the seals around the chassis of the body cover where the hood is meant to be stored when folded... man...it is so hard to describe..grrr....

anyone know where to obtain the seals for the above?

Hello guys,

Car's finally ready. Took a few shots and will be uploading them soon (probably as file attachments) since i dont host them and link the url.

Couple of questions for those reading this thread:
1) Anyone replaced the front headlight lens covers? Any inkling on the cost?
2) Anyone replaced or repaired the seals alongside the right and left hand sides of the windscreen?

I'm with Jack - anxious to see the pics!

#1 - The headlights are replaced as one unit (at least they are on mine). It was a fairly standard unit found at a local parts store.

#2 - Haven't replaced these, but remember reading a while back that these *could* be $$$. May want to check the Doors and Windows topic group for info. A number of folks have fixed and/or replaced seals.

the quality of the mobile phone cam aint that good...i will try to take some pics over this weekend with a digital cam instead. so hopefully can share the different looks that an elan can take with the community.

it's good news to hear that the lens is commonly available part. As for the fix to the APillar seals, i have gone the really cheap way, the silkaflex or something. got the guys fixing the hood to patch it up (for free). so i cant complain...

already, will post some shots the coming week..mainly aesthetic mods..

Oh sorry, I thought you were talking about an upgrade to halogens; never done that before. Yes, the sealed beams are available like single women in their 30s. :bonk:

depends on what headlight system they put in Desmond's car though, cause all the Euro ones have non-sealed beam reflector and bulb type headlights . . . .

have taken a long time to post the pictures due to various reasons.
Anyway, i havent been able to do this at a nice site and time and also all the mods. will try to post more off the sound system, EBC, centre console and digital projection speedometer later

i learnt alot from this site and also like to contribute by sharing the experience that i had thru photos.
