Update on the above: I started the car and drove out of the garage yesterday to warm up and get the oil circulating (I haven’t unplugged what I think of as “Simon’s cable” as yet). And the light didn’t come on . . .

Mind you, when I went back into the garage briefly, I noticed a splash of crimson fluid on the nice clean garage floor, just behind and inboard from where the offside front wheel would have been, so finding that will be the next little task

Should be quite easy, particularly as you have narrowed it down to the FOS caliper Should be just a little tighten with the spanners

Power steering fluid was my feeling too, Dave, given the colour and consistency of the fluid. I don’t think it will be the rack, because we checked that very carefully during the rebuild last year, and there were no signs of leaking at all.

My guess is the PS reservoir, but I hereby apologise unreservedly and in advance to Rambo when I’m proved wrong

Agreed that PAS fluid is usually pink and BF is usually yellowish But also the oil cooler/hoses are in that vicinity too (yes, I know the colour is not crimson or pink)

Stick some blue elephant bog roll or paper underneath and see if you can fine tune the exact area of leakage

Sounds like PAS fluid - Pipe clamps under the reservoir, or a dodgy 'O'ring on the pas pump banjo, or a crack on the metal pipe where it goes into the round bit on the banjo.

At this current time of lockdown, I find myself increasingly drawn into Facebook (pointless) arguments... so a 'gift' of a comment like that just had to be exploited

(My understanding was that the crimson fluid was tipped into the reservoir when changing brake fluid so that when it was seen at the bleed nipple you knew the old stuff was out. I only ever actually remember seeing a tin of it once on a garage shelf, and never really found a need for it).
