How to make a Donation?

Postby Freelander » Mon 26.05.2008, 20:24

Thanks to the advice of several Members and the offer of parts FOC (ex paulwatkins) I too would like to make a donation. Please pm with details -

Has anyone considered the implications of claiming grantaid on all donations received (ie tax rebate - assuming donors are tax payers) - not wishing to teach anyone how to suck eggs etc

Thanks,

Donation - Giftaid

Postby Freelander » Tue 27.05.2008, 01:10

Apologies for the typo - the reference was of course to giftaid - details at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/charities/gift-aid.htm :?

We had looked at gift aid some time ago, as the thought of receiving contributions from HMG has a certain appeal to me, but we decided that the time involved in administrating it far outweighed any financial benefit I'm afraid.

I guess it didn't work - I've subsequently found out that the username has to be 100% correct including upper/lower case. I'll try again. Could you let me know if you don't receive anything please?

I'm also going to give my donation from the sale of my old number plate at Hethel. Is a cheque okay or would you prefer cash?

I have a couple of British cars, and am now interested in the Lotus Elan M100. Your site is absolutely the best, and the active members are experienced in the car, ready to help, and a key to the success.

I would be pleased to send a donation. I have a paypal account, but if this is not convenient let me know how to go about it. Please let me know the details about the best way to make the donation from Canada, and I will make it happen.

Thank you

Send me free flight tickets to and from Montreal/London and I'll collect a donation, and save paypal fees as well! :-D

Geoff will be along soon with details!

Good luck with your search for an Elan BTW.

Sorry people, I haven't had time for anything since Hethel. I've PM'd the account details to you both. Could you please let me know when you transfer money as the new same-day-not-stuck-in-the-bank's-interest-free-cyber-vault-for-three-days transfers only come with the rather useful description I00000123456 or similar. :?

Geoff,

I've (finally) sent you some cash today. Sorry for the delay, I've been waiting for enough spare cash to become available - been a bit heavy handed with the credit card recently :-D

Dave,

I've sent you a PM with the account details. Gareth has all the pins so drop him another PM and I'm not sure who has the stickers - possibly Enright.
