ive been talking to compomotive as i realy need to replace my wheels, and we've come up with a wheel which i think is bang on.

available in different colours, price includes vat and delivery. £699 we can also check for caliper clearance if you can measure it up.

I like these wheels a lot, although I have probably committed to too much spending recently to get a set.

lol no thats for 4. i though this might be a little slow after the s2 wheel offer, but i was holding out for anthracite wheels, plus i reccon these will be abit lighter, but thats a guess.

it's a bit of a shame that they can not do the MO1673 inthe same offsets as the
MO1666

3, 4 or 5 Stud Fitments

Do not be suprised if they are heavier than any of the Elan standard wheels as they are motorsport wheel and have to with stand the rigors of a motorsport enviroment. Light and strong wheels come at a price, usually a more exotic material is used so increasing the cost.

Five stud does open up more options and it is possible to convert the Elan to 5 stud.

Aren`t motorsport wheels lighter

Mine are nearly one Kg lighter than the S2 wheel.


BTW, if your going for Bob`s Hi-spec rear upgrade you need to make sure the aftermarket wheel will clear as i found out to my cost Well not much off a cost as we have Bob on our side LOL
Martin (texas) went for some 16" BMW mini wheels on they won`t even clear his front upgrade

Are they a true motorsport wheel or are they just marketed that way, I have seen aftermarket wheels break in competition use, possibly not put under the same stress on tracks but in rallying they need to be strong, where the weight is a secondary consideration.
If you look at the loads and stresses a car is put under in competition use compared to a road car it is not a like for like comparison.

Mine are listed as Motorsport wheels , i did a search to find the weight and came up with links to competition list off wheels and there was even qualifying wheel that weighted 5.5kg that wouldn`t last long on the UK roads lol. Obviously there for circuit racing and Rallying would be a different matter.

Really lightweight open wheels sure show off nice brakes, but make the tiny rear brake discs look just like this.
