As with the TCAs they turned round and said they'd now decided these were not viable to produce.

I got my parts back from them Friday, so they will go out to the other firm who quoted on the hubs Monday, this time I'll just send one, and we'll see where we go from there. In the next week or two I'll get the other and the remainder of my wishbones out to another couple of firms and work round the list until we get somewhere. I never got anywhere with the rubber bushings so we will have to go with the readily available poly bushings for these.

Fred

Both my next door neighbour (JohnB) and I (georgeguthrie) received our wishbones on Monday 23 October, I believe Jamie has had a few family and staff problems, but he is on the case and ours arrived well packed with the bushes pressed in and are an excellent job.

Geordie

tried sending this by pm and to your email but your email didn't clear and the PM is still in my out box? Check your email address

Can anyone help me here? I still haven’t received my wishbones so I am about to start legal proceedings against this thief. Can anyone give me the dates that they paid for their wishbones? Deposit and then the final balance?? I have given him every opportunity to come good but now he has even stopped replying to my correspondence.

Very strange as, at this moment, he is listing them on ebay at £802.50 ebay.co.uk/Lotus-Elan-M100-Stainless-Steel-Wishbones-Rear-pair-New-Uprated
and on his website price is £,1000, and I presume VAT and P&P will be added, but does say 8 pairs in stock...https://www.specialistvehiclesolutions.com/product/elan-stainless-steel-wishbones/

His Business Seller info on ebay has a phone number as well as all the company details. Have you tried phoning? Best of luck.

BUT...

The eBay listing says: "This will be the first of the next production run, delivery mid-January for orders placed before month end."

He seems to always be selling smoke. He rarely has the actual items in stock.

:agree: Always lists a set of 15" OZ wheels for £375 4-x-lotus-15-oz-ruote-wheels but never has any ... I've never seen it not ' Out of Stock ' ..

Worse still..... the description says mid Jan, but the estimated delivery date is April 3rd, which is the first date that you can raise a claim with Paypal if they don't turn up.
I'd expect the text and the delivery date to be the same, it's almost as if the seller is expecting them to be late :poke:

Several members of Clan McElan have also had issues and problems with Jeemy. And I know that some of our American cousins have also had issues with the custom rear hubs in the past and considered, or proceeded, down the litigation avenue. You will see some of the issues if you search.

I, personally, have had no issues but, then again, I had the rear hubs in my hands before I parted with my hard earned cash :!:

Products are good, liason and post sales are very poor :?

I think this could be a case of delay tactics until its worth making say a batch of 10.......
so if youre person no1 on the list then you might have to wait while the next 9 decide to buy too......
I know that when we've done big stuff like this before, its very hard to make
so doing them one at a time is just not efficient or cost effective
unless he is willing to pay and make enough to make it viable and then sit on the stock, then I fear this is a bulk order type thing

I think you are giving him more credit than he is due around the organisational skills required to plan for this approach!

He is always on the verge of just sending, waiting on packaging, waiting on courier etc.

Those of us from the original group buy who paid up front (years in advance as it turns out) funded the tooling and production probably for his whole initial run allowing him to make a profit on the unreserved wishbones. It is disgusting that it turns out there are people from the group buy still waiting  I was totally frustrated with the seller and it appears I was one of the lucky ones and only obtained one of the first sets by constantly badgering him, turning up at his unit etc.

I have said previously it is a shame it has turned out this way because Jeemy could have been a real asset to this forum as the wishbones are extremely good quality :banghead:

Pretty sure.. I've acquired 2 sets of BB rear hubs, one unused, one as part of a HiSpec Brake setup, and I have to (correctly) drift the bearings out and in. I believe on several of Jeemy's the bearings just fell in ... and fell out ! link to the thread

Fred

The details you asked for are:

Deposit/setup. £300. Paid on 15 Mar 2015

Balance, bushes incl fitting & packing/courier. £463.20 paid 12 Oct16

Delivered to both me and JohnB on 23 Oct 17.

I believe you will get your wishbones - eventually if you keep chasing him. For what it's worth, personally I do not think he is another BB, I called in to his new workshop/unit in April 2017 while at Duns with Club Lotus, as both JohnB and l were still waiting for our wishbones. Unfortunately no one was there although I did manage to speak to Jamie with the contact number on the door. I also spoke to the occupants of the next door unit which is also garage services, and they said 'although unreliable we would get our goods'.

JohnB and I were also part of the original rear hubs groupbuy and got them after a bit of a wait, we are both happy with both the wishbones and rear hubs quality but we're not happy with the level of communication from Jamie.

I would probably take part in another groupbuy with him but pay by credit card

Fred, all got this from Jamie/SVS today.

Dear George,

Just a quick note as you'll maybe get some mails from us letting you know your order is now "complete".

This doesn't mean you've made a new order, its an old order being closed off into our new system.

This means you'll be on the mailing list if you agreed to it, and eligible for upcoming promotions.

We now have a new management structure and the company is properly launching for 2018 - there will be many benefits for customers that worked with us in the early stages.

Any problems, do call us.

Otherwise, the auto-emails are nothing to worry about, just part of us improving our audit system.

All best,

svsperformance

Keep chasing him up if you're still waiting for your wishbones and let us know on here how you get on.
