Mobil 1 for Malvern - Closed

Postby rip » Tue 14.04.2009, 13:01

Due to the VAT drop, this is cheaper than last year. £23 for 4 litres when I last looked. I can only get the 0W/40 stuff (petrol or diesel). Having just checked, no-one on e-Bay comes close to this price.
I can also get Castrol GTX Magnatec (again, petrol or diesel) cheap-ish too. (about £30 for 8 litres IIRC).
If anyone is interested, please start a list. I'll assume you want Mobil 1/petrol unless you say otherwise.
I'll be at Donny on Saturday.

Interesting you mentioned Mobile 1 0W40
When I was chatting to Gerald at GST Performance on Saturday he did not recommend using Mobil 1 0W40 as he said it was a little thin and had been know to cause issues with the hydraulic lifters.
I personal run Mobil 1 15W50 and have run 0W40 in the past and did have a bit of noise from the lifters so switched.
It is a bit of a personal preferance and I do not want to start a debate on oils but I just thought it was worth a mention.

I can't get it.
The Mobil & Magnatec are from Costco, who have a limited range. They don't do anything else other than a cheapie (Chevron I think) which I tend to ignore.

Horses for courses & there is a very good argument in favour of 0W, but like you mentioned, it has been covered elsewhere.
I don't use it in my Elan either.

This group buy was just popular last year & there is no reason why I can't help out this time around so I thought I would offer again.

Sure are..Same price too. £23.50 for 4 litres inc VAT.

As per title, I'll get them for Malvern. I'll be there on the Saturday.
