I think the mirror glass is bespoke. If not, it is definitely very unusual.
I need one of those stalks too. I tried to make a replacement from plastic tube some time ago, but it did not work out. I was told the stalks are from a VW, but I've seen nothing to confirm this.

So I guess that's a yes....

Have you tried all the other usual suspects?

Hmm, perhaps it's time to visit the salvage yard and do some scavaging.

When did "unavailable" become "obsolete"? "Obsolete" means something has merely been replaced by something better!
You might as well call the entire car "obsolete" since they don't make them any more.

We like random Rhetoric in the middle of thread ....

Moving on, today's investigation has been quite slow,

Aidan at Hethel is out of the office till Thursday.

The boys at GSF did't reconise the motor.

I'm going to take a trip down to the parts/service department at the V-Dub Garage later.

On another front, can anyone recall the Peter Stevens talk at Dunston Hall......

Did he recollect the mirrors were off a renault just like the rear lights?

Oh well, must dash....

I don't recall him saying that.
My mirrors were missing an adjustment stalk back then too so I expect I would have noticed if he had said that.

I thought that was the inside mirror, though maybe I also was influenced by

Interestingly I've just received an email from the Parts boys at Hethel.... :(

Part is obsolete & we will not be re-ordering

So this makes me wonder...... Who has them on back order? What is thier source?

I wonder what the kia elan/vigato uses?

I'm still working on a solution though....
