Crisis averted because I still haven't picked them up from Randy! Thanks for the warning on these.

Is there any more news of this? I bought a set of hoses, still unfitted, directly from Samco with the discount, and was never on the list here. Was everything resolved with Samco?

Water hoses or turbo hoses?
Dumb question, but I ask it anyway

No news yet.
It is ONLY the induction kit that has the problems. (so: pipe between air filter and turbo, and pipe between air intake in wheel arch and air filter)
The full silicon pipes (all the water pipes, and pipe between intake and metal pipe under the bonnet) are all OK and highly recommended!
No news from Samco yet, but they are on it at the highest level

Samco has come up with a good and smart technical alternative without the risk of debonding issues (1 piece material)
However, since the group buy went via Amber performance, Amber should come up with solution now.
That also goes for all who obtained through their webshop.

I just spoke with James at Amber Performance. His statement to me was that they use the same hoses and processes for all of their induction kits and the hose created for HJ is a one -off and will not be offered to replace the other hoses they have sold. They feel it was a FLUKE issue with the one hose that HJ received.
I have emailed a specific request for the full details of the issue to JAmes and he will confer with the designer at Samco to make sure he is correct with his understanding of the situation.
I should have an answer within the week.

That's strange?!
There are 2 known cases of actual debonding, both with me.
For all 'induction kit' owners out there: You can easily check if your pipes are affected. Stick your fingers in the wide part, and feel if the bonding layer between flexible hose and silicon pipe comes loose if you massage / gently peel it with your finger tip (not your finger nail). Please post your results here.

You can see the entire flap hanging loose / no bonding here / Parts are allready missing (and can be found in the intercooler...)

You can stick your fingers underneath, no bonding what so ever

Thanks for the heads-up and process. I will convey that info to Amber. Maybe it was a bad BATCH.
EVERYONE that got an induction kit: Do this test. If you don't understand, let us know and we will try to help.

Would all of you that purchased the Induction Hose kit from Samco please let ME know that you did, who you are and where you are.
We are trying to get a grip on the actual number of buyers so we better understand how many replacement hoses or payment refunds we will be needing.

Everybody on the list: Please also do the bonding check on your hoses so we can identify the problem better.
Thanks all!

Hi Jeemy,
That does not look good. You have not been using this, right?
The last picture looks like a piece of Kapton tape, but is hard to judge from the picture. However there should be no loose parts what so ever....

Never fitted, they were sitting in the box when you posted the warning, so I just hung on to see what you turned up as instructed.
