Dear Bob:

Just a head's up. I will be on vacation from January 28th until February 4th. Please drag your feet on shipping the stuff so that it arrives after my return.

Sincerely,

Algirdas

To late!

Parcel has left UK for USA, hopefully it will arrive before you leave.

Bob

BTW did you get the keep screws?

Dear Bob:

How was the parcel sent? Do you have a tracking number or other information that can be used for tracking the package? If I am going to be gone, I need to ask one of my neighbors to keep an eye out for it or I need to get in touch with the shipper. I doubt they will leave it without a signature. Or will I have to pick it up in Denver?

Also, I have no idea what you are talking about concerning "keep screws". What is that all about?

Sincerely,

Algirdas

Not sure about the carrier but will find out and advise as I did not send them.

Keep screws are the screws keep the disc attached to the hub when you remove the wheel, it is just that I sent you some separately to go with the hubs.

Dear Bob:

As of yet, no sign of keep screws at Overland Trail.

Seems a little strange as Marie had her package delivered last week but you can never tell probably in the postal system some where. They were sent at the same time in a "Jiffy" bag stuck to cardboard.

Dear Bob:

Two packages from Diamond Engineering showed up Thursday evening. I have not even opened them due to time constraints, but will crack them open and ship out the items after I get back from vacation.

Please e-mail me a list of who-gets-what so I don't screw that up.

Also, I insist that everything be shipped with insurance and deliver confirmation.

Sincerely,

Algirdas

Algirdas

Well that really good to here,

The hubs are for
LGM
Nitroman
Vix.Tabellae
Doc Fizzix
Matt RI
And of course yourself.

I would ask the above to contact Algirdas as he will want payment for shipping internally.
The hub costs did not include shipping but you only have the internal shipping to pay to Algirdas.
(Note: the shipping cost from the UK to US was covered by the Vat element that I did not have to pay)

I will email the details to you Algirdas

box arrived the other day via LEC international couriers (well, an Englishman, A Geordie and a Welshman!).

Thanks for all you achieved on this enterprise :-)

For the peeps in the USA from Algirdas

"I got back from vacation a week or so ago and am buried at work. I'll be boxing them up this week and will get them out later in the week. Very busy at work. Very busy."

So you hubs should be with you soon, do not forget you owe Algirdas for the postage on

Do I detect a touch of impatience? Remember people that this is done as a hobby and favo(u)r to complete strangers with one common interest. PLEASE don't hassle people unnecessarily, as all this is likely to achieve is an overwhelming reluctance to do similar activities in the future.

:agree:

:goodposting:

Having done the odd group buy it is the expectations people have of you that never cease to amaze me and is the very reason why I will only consider arranging group buys in future if the end result to me is worth the hassle I know I'm letting myself in for :-D . To those who are doing group buys now my support, admiration and sympathy in that order!

I sent a PM to Bob asking if he had heard anything from Algrids and/or if he had any update for the US buyers but Instead of getting an update on the situation I got a PM that basically said that I would have to contact Algrids on my own and that he was no longer responsible (as I read it).

Not true
your first PM
Bob

Can we have an update on the rear hubs? Should we not have them by now?

To which I replied

As far as I am aware they are in the USA and algirdas has them.
Have you been in touch?
Have you paid him for delivery?

His direct email is removed for security
telephone number I think? removed for security

At this point I did not know if you had been in contact or not and was just asking if you had been in contact or not.
Your next PM was confusing as I did not know if you wanted me to contact him or you were going to after I sent you his details.

I then sent you a PM with the reply I had got from Algirdas

Algirdas is on the case

Quote:
"I got back from vacation a week or so ago and am buried at work. I'll be boxing them up this week and will get them out later in the week. Very busy at work. Very busy."

FYI
I sent them through Algirdas to save on shipping costs as was agreed between Geoff, Algirdas and myself, when they were actually sent was not in my control as they were sent direct from the company that made them.

It was at this point it seemed to me to go out of control

I guess after re-reading this I jumped the gun and owe an apology

I guess my frustration with the attacks against me from my previous posting asking for an update has caused me to not think rationally. In re-reading my PM to Bob I assumed Bob understood that I had not heard from Algrdas but I was out of line, my PM to him was not clear and rude. Bob's reply was appropriate, I just did not read his reply correctly and was reading more into because of my frustration with this group buy. I will remove myself at this point and hope Bob accepts my apology

Thanks Sy, yes I have it, I know Aldridas. I am dyslexic and good spell check does not always help, I miss words and letters all the time.

That’s the problem with assumptions, we all need a crystal ball at times, face to face it is very easy to correct errors and it one of the major failings of email that the context get lost.
Lets forget about it and move on.

We all make mistakes including me!
