Yes there has been some delay, delivery of the special parts to be precise, so we are a few weeks behind.

The kits are being completed over the next few days in fact so the customers can expect their kits by the end of next week.

I'm intrigued that the rears have helper springs.
Mine have but I thought that was just because the ones they prepared were too short & my helpers were just there to correct the ride height by going coil-bound almost instantly?

Rip,
Your rears have helper spring because the springs are uprated and to get the correct ride height at full droop the spring would be loose if they were not there.

Karl,

Did the kit come with an upper spring carrier?
You will need them as the spring can not sit against the top mount with out them as the three bolts get in the way.

Mine arrived yesterday (at the wrong address). Bob, I'll be picking them up tonight so if Karl doesn't get back to you I'll confirm if they have the upper spring carrier.
I've no idea what it should look like but I'll give it a shot

Yep, there are 4 (what look like) spring carriers.

I seem to be missing the helper springs and the carriers that go inbetween the main and helper spring. I have opted for the Sport suspension kit with Eibach springs. Any thoughts?

Ummm,

It’s about now that I would take a shed more photos for Bob to have a look at, but unfortunately I have delivered them and the car, this afternoon, to my mechanics to have them fitted over the next couple of days.

From what I remember, the kits had extra gold coloured ‘collars’ that you can see in my photo, but they did not look like the more substantial silver discs shown on the top of the springs in Bob’s photo. (am I missing something?)

The helper springs may be extra on my kit because I asked for different spring ratings....400 lbs Eibach springs, as I wanted to lower the car slightly but not use the full race set up (550 lbs), as I have driven other cars with very stiff springs and found the ride too harsh and skittish on poor road surfaces.

Once they are fitted (if I have all the parts!) I will road test and report back on the driving impressions (whether or not they are too stiff etc)

Incidentally, when I had a conversation with Pete about this, he said that on the prototype (Rip’s car), the rears were a certain percentage of the fronts, on stiffness, but by changing to the 400 lb Eibach springs on the front, this percentage would have to change as Eibach did not make the required spring ratings for the rear, so basically I’ve been and complicated things a little!

As with all things recommended through this web site ( Piper exhaust, Mountain chip, Dave’s short shift , AB cables) the mechanics commented on the high quality of Bob’s Nitron kit and how light they were in comparison with similar products.

There my Springs, there a different setup. Bob was just using it as an example.

My Top Carriers


fitted to the stock top hats


Looking at Karls pic
you should have 4 bottom carriers/seats
4 top carriers with slots/holes to allow for the bolt heads on the stock top hats
and 2 middle carriers for the rears as there using a helper spring.

BTW i wouldn`t just up the rating of the front springs, you need to match the rears

I don't have any carriers with slots cut out...

This is what I recieved.

I went for Sport with Eibach springs.
