Hi all
N.B. I have finally decided against using a mailing list to contact all buyers simultaneously as replies only arrive in dribs and drabs, thereby making it difficult to know whether my message has indeed been received. Therefore would you please consult LEC in order to obtain the latest information. I will of course contact you individually in order to tell you to consult the appropriate LEC Group Buy post.

Today I received the shipment costs pertaining to the M100 Front Indicator Lenses for all EU and non-EU countries. Please consult the costs according to the country of destination below.

With respect to the United Kingdom and the post-Brexit Customs situation, our supplier has confirmed that a status quo position has been preserved in the meantime. Therefore, for the time being, there are no new taxes/duties applicable to the lenses. Should the situation change, however, any additional duties/taxes will be borne by our supplier directly, i.e. if there is an increase in import taxes/duties, you – the buyers – will not have to pay any additional costs.

Another difference compared to previous Group Buys is that this time there is no insurance involved. The supplier undertakes to replace any parts which arrive damaged and/or broken. Apparently insurance was far too complicated and involved too many conditions/constraints. He has therefore decided against. This means that you do not have to pay insurance.

The transport costs are net (VAT inclusive) for the dispatch of a pair of indicator lenses.

United Kingdom 28,00€ (6) Scotlan, Dooie, Texas2201, Rice Crispy, B-land, British Steel Therefore 67,90€ per pair plus 28,00€ equals total of 95,90€ (VAT inclusive).

Canada 55,00€ (1) Esprit888 Therefore 67,90€ plus 55,00€ equals total of 122,90€ (VAT inclusive).

Germany 20,00€ (Perhaps Texas2201) Therefore 67,90€ plus 20,00€ equals total of 87,90€ (VAT inclusive).

France 14,00€ (1) Giniw Therefore 67,90€ plus 14,00€ equals total of 81,90€ (VAT inclusive).

The price of 67.90€ per pair (VAT inclusive) - see earlier post above - is based on the purchase of a batch of ten (10) pairs. PNM and SJS prices are comparable at around £84.00 GBP (VAT inclusive) and apply to the clear transparent version only. As far as I know they do not offer the two tone (orange/clear) version. I do not know how much they charge for shipment costs.

It is now up to you to see whether you wish to go ahead with this Group Buy.

The delivery time for the Front Indicator Lenses will be approximately 2 months as from date of order confirmation. Raw material supply, mould preparation and production time are all to be taken into account. A deposit (purchase commitment on your part) of 45,00€ will be requested very shortly. The balance will be due once the parts are manufactured and ready for dispatch. Don’t hesitate should you require additional info. Keep an eye on LEC for developments and information.

In answer to your query, shipment is scheduled via the French postal system (Colissimo). Postal charges, just like in the UK, are high. Charges have steadily increased and also a new notion of “weight/volume” has since been introduced. The price now depends on the size (volume) of the package rather than on its actual weight. Because of the volume, for example in the case of the rear light covers, the weight of a parcel is now considered equivalent to 8,4 kg, hence the high cost.
I know we're talking about the indicator lenses in this instance but by way of example my wife recently sent off 2 pairs of knitted woollen slippers to the UK barely weighing much and had to fork out 17,00 odd Euros.
Prices are what they are and there's not much you can do about it.
P.S. As mentioned by you, you can always ship to Germany which is slightly cheaper at 20.00€.

In view of the prohibitive transport costs for Canada, I've been informed by esprit888 (Colin) that he's unfortunately obliged to pull out. This is quite understandable at 55,00€ for postage.
We are hence down to 7 pairs (perhaps 8 with Giniw if he takes 2 pairs), so our price for a batch of 10 pairs (67,90€) is under peril. I'm possibly willing to take a pair but we'd still be 1 pair short.
P.S. I'm still awaiting confirmation from Giniw and Dooie. Would you please reply.
P.S. I've also just seen Denny's post re PNM. What are your views?
