Just so every one is in the loop, having sent the details to Nitron this is their reply

"First of all please accept our apologies for this issue. Whilst there are no excuses, the reality is that this project was taken on by Pete earlier in the year, and before I had joined the company. You may not be surprised (!!) that Pete has now left the company and so I am only now picking up the last few of his outstanding projects and unfortunately, mistakes.

Obviously as inconvenient it is to you the customer, and as unprofessional this issue may appear, I would like to assure you that it will be rectified as a matter of urgency.

I have now completed the redesign of the top stem assembly and we are currently manufacturing them on our In house machines, and the first batch will be ready to fit in the next day or so."

I/we really appreceiate you following this up. I am quite concerned that Pete may have made mistakes in other areas also, which would possibly never be picked up. Spring/damper ratings for example? How would we ever know?
I know that perhaps I should be raising these concerns with Nitron, but then that could be an issue if everyone involved in the group buy contacts them.
If they would like a vehicle to check everything over again I am quite happy to volunteer my Elan.
£1330 is a lot of cash, and I have already sent mine back to them due to an error on their part. I'm not having a dig at you by the way, and I'm quite happy to contact them if you think this would help.

I do not think any thing else is amiss as this was a simple dimensional error and things like damper/springs rates are a known values
I have no problems sorting these things out and it is better that only one does it as things can get lost in translation bit like which bolts were wrong when in fact it was the top mounting adapter that was at fault. Unfortunately this is not just a case of replacing the part as it requires the damper be stripped to replace other parts as well like the adjustment rod. The dampers are gas pressurised so can not be dismantled with out the correct tools and then they need to be refilled with nitrogen, again requiring the correct tools to do the job.

I just Spoke with Ben at Nitron.

My car was booked in to have my suspension fitted next Monday.

I rang and asked if they would be ready but he says it would be best to cancel as he couldn't be sure that it would be ready.

He says the part has now been redesigned and just needs to be manufactured.

I sent my suspension back 3 weeks ago and have not had any word back.

I have spoken to Nitron and it looks like they should be done in the next couple of weeks so they should ship week after next all things being equal.

They did say they would cover the costs to return the dampers and there are three sets still out standing so these need to go back.
If you are one of the three they only need the dampers not the springs etc this will reduce the cost to ship them back.

It looks like the work is complete and they are going to be doing a test fit on Monday so the kits should go out next week assuming all goes well on Monday.
Tony yours is sitting there waiting to go out of the door as soon as they have completed the work on Monday.
They are still waiting on 2 kits to be returned Nige and Karl Martin to have them modified.

My car was fitted with Nitrons suspension today. Car feels positive and drives brill. Not too much to report as yet as all I have done is drive home on motorways with few roundabouts.
All seems to have gone to plan with fitment so I would imagine kits will be being sent out soon. Didn't hang around for long once the kit was fitted as I had an urgent appointment to keep. No pics either unfortunately.

As for the others on the list that have paid, the kits will either be with you, on their way or about to be dispatched. Those that have yet to return the kit you need to do so ASAP.

Just spoken to Nitron. If you remember our conversation at Bishops Stortford Bob re what setup i should be going for I spoke to Nitron the following Monday. I talked to Ben and told him that I had decided to wait for feedback from the two members who have a track setup and a halfway between road and track setup to gauge the setup i wanted. From your post they are presumably sending out the kit based on my original spec which is not necessarily what i want ie they've forgotten about my conversation with them. Well hopefully they are aware now, left a message with the secretary but i think i will call ben again this pm to make sure.

it was a good job I called them as you may have ended up with the wrong kit, I think their memory cell must have been else where!

At least once Tony has had a chance to report on his set up we should have a better idea what the track day set up is like on the road at least.
Someone will have to track the car to find out what is like on track, would be nice to time a standard car against one with the Nitron suspension, no good using Tonys as it has had a slight increase in power.
