Bob
I have to say that I’m extremely disappointed that my polite request, posted above, asking for an update on these wishbones has not resulted in a response from you. I can’t help but notice there are quite a number of earlier posts, some of which were also politely asking for progress updates, which likewise have not resulted in any response!
Your very last post on this thread, dated 11.11.2010 (over 14 months ago now!), stated:
“An update as to where I am with this project.
I have been a bit behind with this project and progress has been slower than I had hoped, all sorts of reasons but should be able to move this forward over the next few weeks and hope to have the production under way shortly.”
As my previous post acknowledged, we are all aware of the subsequent problems you had with Hi-Spec and, with that in mind, holding you to your statement above would have been more than wholly unreasonable. However, when a “few weeks” extends to well over a year and combining that with the absence of any communications over that same period, you’ll forgive me if I’m becoming somewhat concerned. In the absence of any information whatsoever, it’s inevitable that speculation (and yes I have been speculating) will result in all sorts of imagined scenarios of what might possibly be going wrong, or has gone wrong, here.
My concern has been magnified by the great care with which you are still looking after all your other live projects. To be blunt, this Group Buy continues to be totally ignored whilst other previous projects of yours are (to your credit) given meticulous attention. One example; some two days after my post above requesting an update, a post was placed on your “longer handbrake levers for the Hi-Spec rear callipers” thread asking you for a similar update. Your response appeared in well under two hours, why still no response here? Your apparent lack of attention to this Group Buy seems so way out of character in comparison, is it any wonder I’ve become concerned? A further aspect is the number of new Group Buys/Projects you’ve taken on (and yes, I haven’t forgotten I bought off one of the smaller buys) throughout the period this Group Buy has been stalled. This has given me cause to think (speculation again!) that a lack of time does not seem to fully explain this situation.
Returning once again to speculation, I may be wrong (I really do hope I am!) but the only conclusion I'm able to come up with is that there is some major problem with this wishbone Group Buy. If there is a problem, (time??, financial or technical) I would urge you to post up on this thread what it is. There is more than enough goodwill towards you on this forum that “all and sundry”, including me if I was able to help, would be piling in to assist you in finding a solution. A total lack of information is by far the worst thing we can have because, as I’ve mentioned before, speculation is all we are left with.
Again, Bob, I would urge you to respond to this post. It may not seem it but this post is equally intended to be helpful. Ultimately though I, as well as the rest of the list for this Group Buy, at least deserve to be kept in the picture on a reasonably regular basis, just like your other Group Buys, even if that news turns out to be not the best.
