I just cut and pasted from the last post I could see. Wasn't trying to push in.

How's the poor bugger going to get all this lot across? Should we club together and pay the carriage charge for another suitcase!

Need to move cutoff

Postby tigerdog » Tue 26.08.2008, 01:29

When originally setting the deadline, I didn't recognise 1 September is a holiday here in the US. In order to give the Kingsborne folks adequate time to create our wiring, I'd like to move the cutoff to 27 August (this coming Wednesday.) Hopefully this will give them enough time to meet our needs. If this is a major headache, please PM me and I'll try to figure something out.

Think 18 sets is enough to be carrying over

Hello! Just a quick update - I've placed the order with Kingsborne according to the last list, above. 10 sets red, 7 blue and 1 yellow. Kingsborne have agreed to throw in separators as well: two 2-hole separators (as the wires come out of the engine stacked) and two 4-hole separators, to spread them out and nicely align them as they reach the coils. I'll pick them up next week and get them ready for their journey to Hethel. The price is as mentioned before; I'll have the exact amount per set once I pick them up and pay sales tax. Import duty, should I have to pay, will be additional at whatever tariff your government wishes to levy. See you soon!

Hi

Just a thought, These are comming in at aprox £12.80 ( plus duty if nabed)

I suggest we say £15 plus duty if nabed, and the ballance goes into the LEC kitty?

Any thoughts (should it be a little more? )

Payment in cash at Hethel preferred

Postby tigerdog » Fri 05.09.2008, 05:51

Sorry for the radio silence - my day-job seems to have gotten in the way of my life this week. Anyway, I received a call from Kingsborne and will be picking up the wire sets tomorrow. Easiest way will simply be to pay me in cash at Hethel, if that's OK. It'll save me from highway robbery at the currency exchange (at least in one direction) and eliminate the need for paypal surcharges, etc. I'll know the exact amount when I collect the lot tomorrow. And duty on top of that, if any, so I really won't know the final-final amount until I arrive in on your fair shores.

All wire sets have been gathered from Kingsborne, labeled with their purchaser's name, packed up and are ready to go. Kingsborne threw in spacers (two 2-wire and two 4-wire) at no additional charge and did not charge tax since they're going out of the country. Assuming I can walk through the green aisle with a smile on my face and a bag on my shoulder, we'll come in right at 12.75 each.

Just one thing you may want to think about.

How will that look on X-Ray going through security?

A little dodgy me thinks (so be prepared to answer some questions from them. Get your story straight :!: )

I'm assuming they will be checked in and therefore if anyone is suspicious they'll open the bag to take a look, I would suggest you pack your alarm clock in a different case :)
