Moving on from this topic Link I have now started this list.
This is for a lower front wishbone in galvanised medium tensile strength carbon manganese steel (same as roll cages are made of (T45)) complete with bushes and ball joint.
If my costs are correct then the main half of the wishbone will be £125.00 each and the rear half £45.00 or £170.00 for both complete with bushes and ball joint + delivery £8.00 or £340.00 for both sides left and right.
As I have some tooling and material cost to cover I will ask you to pay a deposit of 50% with the remainder due when they are ready to deliver/ship

Going to break this down a bit as it involves some parts that have to tooling made and the cost will come down on the more that are purchased
so the list reads like this
TCA order_Page_1.jpg
TCA order_Page_1.jpg (17 KiB) Viewed 8972 times

As this is a complex list I would ask you either PM or email me your requirements and I will enter it in to the master spreadsheet and post here as a JPG
You can order as little or as much as you want so if people just want the bushes or ball joints thats OK as it helps reduce the costs particularly the bushes
Cost breakdown is
Track control arm assembly A100C0132S/133S £86.00 each
Arm strut assembly A100C0134S/135S £40.00 each
Lower ball joint A100C6020F £17.00 each
Bush E100C6002F £2.50 each
Bush D100C6005F £17.00 each

This as usual is a numbers game and this is more relevant to the bushes as the tooling needs to be paid for.
The prices may change slightly but it should be in the genral direction of down if they are to go any where.
I would ask that those who can confirm their order and wish to purchase complete wishbones to pay a deposit of £100.00 and those that want just bushes or ball joints pay a 50% deposit.
The time scales for this project are down to how quickley the list gets filled up and IF it does not reach a point it is economical (about 25 minimum) to do then I will cancell the job and return any monies paid.

I will also look into supplying these with new nuts and bolts as it makes a better job of it, will advise of the costs once I have worked them out.

I admit it! This is a completely self-serving post, as I'm desperate for this group buy to go ahead. For my own part, I do know that I'm going to need this lot, from somewhere, in the next year or so.

Bob's statement above has spooked me a bit with the possibility that, unless there is a minimum number, this group buy might not happen. :(

I'm wondering if it is apparent to some what an unbelievably good buy this is. If it isn't apparent, then this might put it into perspective. I've been onto the SJS website and priced up the equivalent parts to the ones that Bob is offering for a paltry (unbiased word of there :D ) £350ish, including delivery.

Even I was surprised at the full Lotus cost. The full cost is £1,007-05 Including VAT at 17.5% . Also, it's interesting, not to say surprising, that you can't even buy a single wishbone (which does include ball joint and bushes) for the same price as is being asked for this full kit !!

Just ask yourself two questions 1) Is my Elan an SE? 2) Have the front wishbones been replaced since the car was new? If the answers are yes and no respectively then, unless you are 100% sure your wishbones are OK, this group buy has to be worthy of consideration. You might think you don't need them now but what about 6 months, 12 months or whenever. If this doesn't go ahead, or no more are available after the group buy, then the full Lotus cost is a huge amount more money.

Think about it? :smt045

Edited on 2nd Feb: Sorry, I overestimated the Lotus price somewhat so, I've corrected it now. It's still over a grand though!

Not sure if your figures are correct as I am not sure if they come with bushes and balljoints fitted if they do not but then £363.95 + delivery is a tad expensive and can not see how they can justify that price.
"It's all the overheads"

For those in places around the world I should be able to ship them for about £40.00 a set (both sides both pieces)
