Headlight stainless fasteners & springs GB#2 @ £25 (ROW+£2)

A few people have asked about the headlight stainless springs and fasteners after the first Group Buy sold out. If enough people sign up to it, I'll organise another run (the springs are made to order) - depending on the numbers, the prices are likely to be as follows:

Code: Select all
Sets      Price per set
>  1       £55
>  2       £39
>  3       £36
>  4       £31
>  7       £28
>  9       £23
> 13       £21
> 17       £18
> 60       £15
UK prices incl P&P
ROW prices add GBP2

Geoff
You originally made this post to create a 2nd group buy in Oct 2012, and people have been adding names again from Dec '13. For the sake of clarity are the prices and thread still actually valid?

Ta.

I haven't checked up on prices recently but the main cost driver is the springs which are made to order. Hopefully things won't have changed too much, so I'll probably use the kitty to order a load of springs then get the fasteners when required as it looks like one of those things that will tick over at a low level when people start working on their headlights and doing some research on LEC. I'll aim to make the price no more than £25 for a full set.

One other thing I looked at was getting the mounting plates cut in stainless. I have a pattern (minus the return flange dimensions) and I was hoping to get to talk to a local fabricator when picking up some front castor shims but I haven't been given the nod by Pinky yet. :poke:

They shut down for a fortnight over the holiday period - so I'll chase them up next week.

I believe this is only for the screws and springs.

I believe SJS was doing a set in galvanized?

Going to just refurbish mine but as Geoff mentioned the possibility of stainless, I'd contribute to that. I've got the V1 of this kit - I am deep into the lights/electrics at the moment and should have a big update to my project soon when I have a solid set of work to report on.

Just to check, what part are the fasteners?

The screws: 12 off of item #4, item #12 (button head plus washer) & item #13 plus the four P clip (harness) retaining screws.

and springs: 12 off of #14

These are for the later POD type headlamps, not the early Opera design.

In that case my fasteners are still pretty good, although I could do with a set of part 3 from that diagram at some point

Items 10 and 11. Mostly obsolete from Lotus. SJs had some done in galvanized. Geoff looked into Stainless, but nothing went further.

If there is a demand, I have a full set of new plates for patterns, I can have them made in the US but like everything else, the shipping is not friendly. I am sure stainless is available as is plated steel like the originals.
