I just sent Samco an email to ask about Federal coolant hoses. Anyone interested in a group buy?

I'd be open to maybe thinking about potentially buying them, provisionally.

So, I looked at the Amber Performance site. Looks like there are 4 kits.
1) Coolant for Federal
2) Induction
3) Turbo
4) Ancillary
The total for these kits is 543.06GBP, which should come out to about $800 without shipping. We should assume this is the CEILING PRICE and expect it to drop if we reach a threshold number, which is probably 10+. I think it might be better to get a hard number with which to negotiate with Amber or Samco directly. Here's the list so far:

1) Fubar +1 (maybe +2)
2) Algirdas +1
3) Peter_W +1
4) Lotos (maybe)

Unless someone is itchy and scratchy, I'll just assume that it's net cheaper to mail to the US and then for me forward them via post office.

Periodically, I'll update the price, even if it hasn't changed. This way, anyone who's interested can look to the last page and quickly scan the price.

Have just done this using Nitro Mans Samco kit he never used.
Please check that it includes all hoses I think their was one small hose I had to reuse.
Also don't forget about the heater control valve
Mine crumbled to bits. Use the plastic replacement.

If memory serves correctly when we did a group buy it was 150 GBP for the kit last time around.

I think that might have been just fro the coolant hoses though. Not for all the hoses mentioned above.

It might be advisable to post some pics or a listing of what hoses are included in what kit. I suspect some people might only want some hoses (coolant, etc.) and not everything that was listed (like the turbo, intake, etc.).

The coolant hoses nearly doubled in price? Yowza.

lotos, I just got a PM from Brit-Car-Nut who reached out to James. Being both more knowledgeable and more well acquainted with the right people, he was able to secure 178GBP if we get 10 or more takers. I think that's more than fair. . .it would be a 28GBP increase from the last batch(?).

So far, we have three definites and three maybes. Maybes, can you ya'll give us an update on your positions? And can anyone else sitting on the fence commit?

Here is a picture of the coolant hose kit. There is currently one hose they don't supply.

I believe the short elbow connector for the top hose that is a very short double bend is the one they don't offer, but Lotus54 found a VW hose that I think everyone said will work so they will see if they can offer that hose too.



The solution from Lotus54 was: NAPA Hose #9511

"I used it with the Samco upper part and the stock bent tube (assuming mine was stock).
Lots of room to make it work well on my car."

Researched and found: This hose fits a 2000 VW Golf GTI 2L Gas. Gates # 22876 Dayco # B72010 Goodyear # 62787

Please review the estimated costs for purchasing the coolant hose set and confirm or remove your intention.
We would like to get this moving ASAP since the hoses are made to order so there will be a delay before they are shipped to the US.
Each package of the hoses is fairly large: 24" x 10" x 6" (59 x 25 x 13 cm) and that translates to 10 pounds or 4kg.
We are assuming each box actually weighs less than that, but the shippers will charge the higher of the real weight or the cube weight.
