Front TCA (lower wishbone) A100C0133/132S

Postby Jeemy » Wed 30.04.2014, 01:09

I have now spoken to most engineering firms in the country and confidently (!) expect to be able to produce these.

I am working with the same firm who did the hubs on most things (they are really happy and confident and a regular Lotus supplier) but as ever, I will need an idea of interested parties before I can get a quote.

Worldwide shipping is NO PROBLEM.

I'm going to keep it to 2 items at a time, but being a mechanic/car person is becoming my full-time job, so this will get my full attention, its not a hobby project. That said, its a bit chicken/egg on this one. Without knowing numbers I can't get a cost together, without a cost, its hard to say if you want them. So this is "I MIGHT want them", not "I DO want them" list, to gauge rough interest.

So if you think you might like a set of these, please post your name to the list below, so I can get this one started.

Bushings on these are looking easy enough to get hold of, but for now we are just looking at rough numbers, details will be confirmed once rough numbers are achieved, and guide prices for arms with and without bushings will then be provided.

Please be signed up by the 18th May.

Don't worry, its no commitment until we get pricing sorted, but until I have rough numbers, I can't get pricing sorted!

this should get to about 30 people quite easily as it was about that number that BB did the dirty on...

I've said roughly 25 sets for this as I want to keep things moving.

I am surprised there is not as much response for the rear wishbones, this may improve if we get to the bottom of the bushings situation.

Honestly, Dave P used poly, and so has James from SWL and a bundle of others and while its not perfect how Lotus intended, its in use on multiple sports cars.

So I think we may end up advising poly for rear and rubber for front which is where the action is. I have a relative in the engineering business in France who is fluent and he is trying to make some calls for me so there may be a glimmer of light there.

Not one to disappoint, and although I'm interested, the darned car is already costing way too much this year so very much dependant on cost. (Jeemy, pls see my email re Turbo sent t'other day)

for the rears
I had powerflex redesign the poly bush for me when I did the last lot......
I think I still have the info and all the details somewhere....
they would let me order in batches of 10 full sets as a minimum IIRC....(ie 80 bushes)

Powerflex is what SWL sell as well. I've got a set sitting in front of me while I get my head round the requirements. I think its likely we'll end up with rears doing poly, but every time I post something on this forum, the opposite happens. Just after I said it was looking difficult to get the rear bones done, a company contacted me who had already done similar for Lotus.

So I am confident fate will land a rubber bushing manufacturer with previous experience in our laps any second now…..
